I’m floating in a void of nothingness. Everything around me is black. There is no gravity, so when I find myself lying on something I am surprised. I blink and feathers of light explode from where my feet stand. No longer lying down, I look around. I’m standing on what looks like a circular Stained glass window. For a while there is no noise, until a voice sounds all around me-
Your time has come for you to discover your true destiny.
“My true destiny?” I have no idea how I got here, or even how I got here. I can’t remember anything. Then, the stained glass fades, and I am left to silence.
. . .
When I wake, I can feel a soft sheet lightly pressing against my body. My head is propped up on a soft but firm pillow, with something tightly wrapped around it. And not only that but also my right wrist as well as my left knee. I can hear the chirping of birds and the flow of water.
I have no idea where I am. My eye lids are too heavy to open so I am forced to lie in this warm bed. I fell so at peace right now. I’m not worrying about anything, what is there to worry about anyway. I could just stay here forever listing to the trickle of water, accompanied with the song bird’s melody. But there is now something else in my fantasy; footsteps intruding on my little day dream.
That new noise is someone walking around me. I must be in a small room considering the lack of echoes. I can feel the body heat from this person; getting closer to me. They lift up my arm and stick a needle in it. I try to jerk my arm away from it but they have a tight grip on it now. “I know this hurts, but it will make you feel better. You have been sleeping for almost three days and the master is getting really worried about you,” his voice is a light purr almost. “I know you probably not hearing any thing I’m saying, but that’s fine. No one ever listens to me.”
I want to tell this person that I am listening to him, but the drug he inserted in me is stealing my energy and I go back to sleep.
..oOo..
My eye lids flicker open and I can finely see where I am. Over my head there is light streaming through a window, sheading warmth on my legs. The ceiling and walls are a light cream color. Sitting up I can see more of the room. I am sitting on a bed with red silky sheets and an oak head-board. There are some medical tools and devices strewn around the room. My clothes and bag ley neatly on a desk in the corner to my right. On the bed side table is a small lamp that illuminates the whole room with incredible light.
I lift my hand to feel my throbbing head and notice a bandage tightly wrapped around it. My right wrist and left knee are also bandaged. I try to stand up, but my left leg refuses to take my weight, however I can use my right leg fine. Even limping is hard for my leg, if I can just get a potion from my bag. And I do. As the liquid pours down my throat, I start to feel a little up lifted. It takes about 10 seconds for it to take effect. Once it does, I start replacing the soft white night dress with my own clothing. For some reason it smells of peppermint. I love peppermint.
Once I put my hair in a high ponytail, I open the oak door and exit the safest feeling I will have for a long time.
