Zer0 x Reader

Part 2 - The Hero

*RHYS PERSPECTIVE*

"Rhys! Give me back my hat!" Fiona shouts, growing impatient. Rhys had somehow managed to snatch it off her head and now she is determined to get it back.

"If you want it, come get it" Rhys teases, holding it up high in the air knowing full well his height would be no match for Fiona.

"How about i just punch you instead" Fiona threatens, stepping forwards only for Rhys to step back. Before she can lunge towards him, Sasha interrupts their bickering.

"Shh.. Guys, do you hear that?" she asks causing the room to fall completely silent while everyone listens attentively.

"RHYSSSS! FIONAAA! SASHH-"

"Woah, was that (Y/N)?" Rhys asks, finally returning the hat back to Fiona who has the same worried expression as everyone else in the room. Within seconds, everyone piles out of the caravan and into the night.

"Ugh, how are we supposed to find her now! It's too dark and I can't hear her anymore!" Sasha says, clearly worried for your safety.

"I cant believe I'm saying this but Rhys.. What are we going to do? She could be in danger.." Fiona asks forcing Rhys to think of a solution.

"Rhys.. what about Zer0?" Vaughn suggests, sparking the perfect solution. "Maybe he can help us find her?"

"Vaughn you're a genius! I've scanned him with my echo eye before so i should be able to search the database and find where he is. Just give me a second" Rhys says, pulling up a hologram with his robotic arm to search the map of Pandora.

"Well..?" Fiona asks, growing impatient.

"Okay.. I think i got it. It says here that hes in the same area the Bossanova death race was. If we take the caravan, we can get to him quick" he explains. Everyone nods their heads, accepting the plan. Wasting no time, they all pile back into the caravan while Sasha floors it back to where it all began.

*ZER0's PERSPECTIVE*

With the little time left before his next mission, Zer0 quickly runs around the entire stadium picking up any of the remaining loot he finds useful. To his luck, he finds a pile of eridium tucked away in a hidden locker. Feeling satisfied with the items gained, he sets a way-point on his digital map for his next mission. The sound of a moving vehicle captures his attention before he can leap away, turning to see a familiar caravan. Coming to the realization that (Y/N) may have returned, he leaps from one roof to another, getting a little bit closer. When the door opens, he is disappointed to see only Rhys step out of the vehicle.

"Zer0!!" Rhys shouts, looking around for the vault hunter. Curious to see what he wants, Zer0 jumps towards him, landing gently behind.

"What is it?" Zer0 asks, scaring Rhys who lets out a girly scream.

"Aha..ahaha.. woah. Snuck right up on me" Rhys laughs nervously as zer0 stares plainly at him. "Its (Y/N).." he says, finally managing to capture Zer0's attention who straightens his posture at the mention of your name. "We think shes been taken and were kind of hoping you'd help" he finishes.

"I have an important mission.." is all Zer0 says causing Rhys to awkwardly run a hand through his hair.

"Oh okay.. I see. Well if you're busy tha-"

"Where was she last?" Zer0 interrupts.

"Probably within the same area we parked our caravan. She said she was going to hide the case within close distance"

"Show me" Zer0 demands.

Although Zer0 knows he should be doing an extremely important mission right now, this new situation has become his top priority. The whole situation was confusing, but there is no denying the instant connection that formed between you two. Even though he has only known you for a short period of time, he has never felt these types of feelings for a girl before. Following the caravan to where it once was, Zer0 explores the area for any clues.

"So does this mean you're going to help us?" Rhys asks, watching as Zer0 scans the ground.

"Yes. On one condition.."

"Okay..?"

"I will get her back myself. I work the best alone" Zer0 states, causing the group to exchange worried looks with each other.

"Fine, just.. please bring her back" Rhys requests causing Zer0 to look up from the area he is exploring.

"I'll make sure she's safe" Zer0 reassures the group, watching as they all pile back into the caravan after wishing him luck. With the peace and quiet Zer0 finally has, he resumes his search, walking around the perimeter of a dense forest. Zooming around the tree's quickly, he just manages to make out a hole in the side of a large tree. The dim light from the sun rising is enough for Zer0 to see whats inside, pulling out the 10 million dollar case with his hand.

"Clever girl" he says quietly to himself, placing it back where he found it. Now knowing that you were for sure in this area, Zer0 closely evaluates the surroundings. Sure enough, not far from the tree is a bandit's mask laying face first in the rubble. Connecting everything together, Zer0 knows exactly what to do next. If he has to search every bandit camp and kill each and every one of them just to get you back, than he was going to do it without thinking twice. Throwing the mask back onto the floor, Zer0 effortlessly leaps and climbs up to the tip of a tall tree. Moving quickly, he jumps from tree to tree determined to get you back.
