A Whole New World

On The Run!

Lily came downstairs with Mrs. Johnson; He walked over to Lily and hugged her and said “Lily am so sorry about this, I wanted a better life for you than this, I promise that once we get far from here things will get better for you, for us.” James and Lily sat down at the table and ate there dinner. James then deiced to tell Lily the plan, “We are going to sleep here for about 2 hours then we are going to Ms. Riley’s and dropping off your school books before we head off on are journey.” Lily nodded her head as she got up and put her plate into the trash and walked over to the couch to go lie down and sleep for the time that she had. It was still early in the day but Mr. and Mrs. Johnson went upstairs to their bedroom to let James and Lily sleep. James set an alarm on the clock and lied down on the recliner. The alarm went off and Lily and James got up and went to say their goodbyes to the Johnson family then headed off towards Mr. Riley’s house. James knocked on the door and she opened the door a little then pulled them in. Ms. Riley looked at them worried then said “James, Lily you guys have to get out of this town the government is going to be looking for you. The cameras around the town seen her running down the street toward the school, so they check the school tapes and seen you come in late again.” She frowned, James put  his hand on her shoulder then replied “I know when we got home are house had been broken in to and the family next door called and figured out it was government business for us. We came to drop off Lily’s school books to you to return them.” He grabbed the books from Lily and handed them to Ms. Riley. She took the books and put them on a side table then said, “Thank, But that is not what I mean you guys have to start to get going now! Once the Government finds out my name they will be here to confront me!” Lily looked up at her teacher “Ms. what are they going to do to you?! I don’t want you to get in trouble because of us! I don’t want them to hurt you, I know what they do.” Lily was tearing up then looked at her brother, “James, can she come and run off with us?! Please, Please I beg you!” James Smiles, “Lily I would love for Ms. Riley to join us but, it’s up to her it’s not my decision if she like to come she is welcome to.” She looked at both of them, “Just call me Riley, and I would love to join but I think we better get on the move then.” They all smiled and group hugged, they headed for the door. Riley was about to open the door then James put his hand up causing Lily and her to crash into it. James stopped them then said “Shh, hear that.” It grew silent and they heard car doors close. Lily and Riley’s face went pale. James moved away from the door quietly and peeked at the windows then said “Okay relax, just get down low and quietly and slowly head for the side door and head for the woods in the back.” They all did as he said and head for the side door, when they got out they hid in some bushes til no one was looking then they quickly ran for the woods.
