Ally cuddles into the couch's pillow, her leg shaking viciously as her older sister speaks on the phone with her social worker.
"C'mon, he's sweet, Ally. Go talk to him."
"Do you think he'll like me?"
"He'll love you, trust me."
"That bitch fucking set me up. She knew what was gonna happen!"
Laura runs her hands through her hair as she leans on the counter, still on the phone. "Look, Brenda, you know what she's been through and--- of course, I know that's not an excuse, but she doesn't want help and help isn't going to work if she doesn't want it."
Laura sighs heavily as the social worker talks angrily in her ear. This was the lady who'd love to take Ally away from her; she was sure she's only getting this many warnings because of Ally's solution, but it's not gonna be long until that's completely irrelevant.
"Yes, I understand. I'll try to console her right now and I'll call you back, alright? Thank you. Bye."
"I wanna move." Is the first thing Ally says once Laura hangs up the phone.
Laura gives her younger sister a disgusted look from across the room, although Ally can't see it because she's faced the other way. "Ally, punching Kira because she brings back bad memories is the most stupidest, idiotic thing you could ever do! You know I don't like violence! You know your fucking social is gonna call me because you got suspended! You know this shit, yet you do it! I'm trying my best at this whole 'raising you' thing and you're sure as hell not helping!"
The older sister takes a deep breath and runs her fingers through his silky hair. "I took us out of Miami, so you would feel safe and sound away that boy. We are not moving again because you see someone who reminds you of Jasper! You punch a girl in a face because of something she did in the past."
Ally then turns around on the couch, scowling at her. "So if Jasper came back and---"
"Jasper doesn't count!" Laura screams, giving her a crazed looked. "Jasper physically and verbally abused you. Kira only had a hatred towards you and that is it! But you punched her in the face for it!"
Ally rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "You don't understand, Laura, so stop trying to."
"I don't understand? Ally, I've have a verbally abusive boyfriend, hince the fucking tattoo on my hand! You know this!"
"Well, I got it verbal and physical, so I'm sure I had it worse."
"I don't care, Ally! If you wanna compare, I was with Seth for three years, while you were only with Jasper for a year! I know how you feel, alright?! I got help for that and I'm good now and you need it, too! For fuck's sake, Ally, I am so tired of you acting like you have it so bad!"
"I do have it bad!" Ally bursts, standing up from her spot. "I'm only sixteen and I've been through more shit than you, so---"
"No, you have not. We were both in abusive relationships, we were both bullied in high school at one point, we both lost our parents... I don't know why can't you just admit you don't want help! Your life isn't as fucked up as you put it to be!"
"Because I don't need it! I'm perfectly fine---"
Laura chuckles sarcastically and crosses her arms, walking closer to her younger sister. "This coming from a girl who literally freezes when she thinks of her ex, continually preaches that the word is fucked up, and who stabs her nails in her skin to harm herself for no reason!"
