The first time I met Maria was in math class. I was sketching a picture of a character from homestuck. I kept my full focus on that one drawing.
My brown hair fell over my shoulder, onto the desk. I paid absolutely no attention to whatever the teacher was saying.
The door opened, snapping me out of focus. Everyone looked towards the door. It was a girl with light blonde hair and piercing green eyes.
"Umm, are you Mr. Jacobson?" The girl asked the teacher.
"Yes, are you Maria?" Mr. Jacobson asked. I took a moment to look the girl up and down. She had on a cute brown leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and uggs. She looked... beautiful.
"Yes." She nodded.
"Okay, you can sit next to Ms. Lina over there." Mr. Jacobson pointed at the seat next to me. She walked over to the other side of the room, everyone went back to their work. I decided to at least finish the stupid paper full of math problems. One problem: I couldn't get my mind off of the girl next to me.
"Is that homestuck?!" Maria asked, pointing at my sketch pad. I nodded and looked at her.
"You like homestuck too?" I asked. She nodded, her eyes lit up. I couldn't help but smile slightly. She looked like she was full of energy. Her aura screamed nice. The kinda people who usually didn't like me that well.
We had a pleasant conversation about it, being cautious of Mr. Jacobson seeing us.
The bell rang.
Dammit. I thought to myself.
"Hey, what's your next class?" I asked Maria.
"Band." She said. "I play the flute."
"Oh, that's cool! I play the ukulele." I said. I then frowned. "But I dont do band, I have art. My next class is language arts."
"Wanna hang out at lunch then?" Maria asked. I smiled.
"Yeah, sure. Where?" I asked her.
"The library?" She said at bit apprehensively.
"Yeah, okay." I smiled.
Everything went uphill from there.
