"I know you're following me carl-" i hear a girl say
I hid behind a tree. Accidentally breaking a branch
"Whos there?" A boy who i assume is carl yells. I stay where i am and i er them walk closer. I run.
I run as fast as i can away from them.
I get to a gate
"Name" a person yells. I moved back "ill shoot. Whats your name"
"Edith." I yell back. I hear a walker.
The person doesnt shoot it. It starts to get close to me.
Still doesnt shoot. I grab out my knife and stab its head. I look over the person.
"Open the gates" she says to someone. The gates open. I walk in. "Drop your weapons" she says and i put my hands up and drop the bloody knife. I look over
A boy. He has brownish blondish hair. I cant see his eyes, hes far away.
"How many walkers have you killed?"
"Dozens" i simply respond
"How many people have you killed?" She asks
"Two." I whisper
"Why?"
"They didnt want to turn." I say and she nods.
"Im tara" she smiles and i wave once.
"Follow me" another lady says "im jesse. These are me sons sam and ron"
His name is ron. Hes a bit taller than me.
"Hi" i say sternly and i look down
"Youll stay with enid" she says and the boy and girl from the woods walks over to jesse.
"This is lynn, thats enid" she smiles
"Hi" i whisper.
"Ill take her the house" carl says and we start to walk. "Why did you run?" He asks
"Why wouldnt i" i shrug and we walk up to a house
"Here" he says
"Thanks" i whisper and walk inside.
They have showers.
I take one and put my dirty clothes back on
"What size are you?" Enid walks in
"2" i whisper and he gives me pants and a shirt
"Here" she smiles
"Thank you" i say and walk back into the bathroom. I put them on.
"Follow me, we have a place with extra clothing" she says and i just smile. We walk out and to another house
"Hi enid whos your friend?" A lady asks
"Edith" she smiles
"Hi" i smile at the lady. I look around and she says something but i dont catch it
"Here is the clothing" enid says and i look at it. I grab jeans, a white shirt and a flannel. Enid looks at what i got and picks up mre things "youll need morethan just that" she smiles and gives me more clothes.
We walk back to the house and she emptys a drawer for me.
Why is she being nice to me? I came into her place and im take room up.
"Im go to rons with carl.. do you wanna come?" She asks
"Its alright, i dont wanna be awkward" i smile and she shakes her head
"Youre coming" she grabs my arm and we walk out the door. We get to rons house
Its big and white.
Carl knocks and jesse lets us in
"I see you cleaned up" jesse smiles "i can give you a haircut if you want. Trim off the dead ends" she smiles
"You dont have to if you dont want to" i smile poilety
"Follow me" say says and i do. Enid and carl go upstairs and i sit in a chair as im told to.
I have pretty long har as it is. Its probably nappy and gross, its been three years since ive gotten one. Its platinum blonde with colored ends.
She trims a bit off and noticed i hav side bangs. Shes makes them noticeable again.
When she finishes she smiles at me
"Take a look" she smiles and i look in the mirror.
I love it.
"Thank you so much" i smile at her
"Anytime, come back and ask in about three weeks or so, ill trim it up" she smiles and so do i. "Ill take you to rons room"
We walk up some stairs and knocks enid opens it
" love the hair cut" she smiles
"Thanks" i smile and look down. I walk in and and look up.
Ron and carl both look at me
"What?" I ask and carl looks away. "Did i do something wrong?" I ask
And ron shakes his head. Carl looks at me and smiles
"Okay so, that is ron, enid, and sam" carl says and ron puts his arm around enid.
I think theyre together.
"Hey" i wave a little at everyone
The boys play a game and i sit next to enid.
"I would have never known you had such light hair if you never showered" she laughs and so do i.
"Yeah ive been out there for a while. Its been a good year or so" i say and carl looks at me
"Youve been living outside for a year" he asks
"Yeah?" I look at him
"All by yourself" he look at me
"For the most part.. i had my older sister but she you know.." i stop talking play with my thumbs
"Im sorry i didnt know" he starts
"No no its okay" i smile and ron snorts "what?"
"Sensitive" he laughs
"Have you not lost anybody" i look at him and he turns to face me
"I have" he says
"Then why did you call me sensitive" i reply
"Cuz im not over here crying" he laughs
"Im not crying either. Its a sensitve subject i dont go into" i stand up.
"Whatever" he says
"Enid ill be back at the house.." i say and walk out
"Where you going?" Jesse asks me
"Im gonna relax in enids room for a bit. Really tired" i say and she smiles.
I leave and walk to her house and sit in her room
Shes letting me sleep on the ther bed in her room
