I wake up he next morning to enid shaking me
"Whats up" i look at her
"Wanna go exploring" she smiles
"Obviously" i get up and put on clean clothing. I grab my bag and walk over to the wall
"Lets go" she smiles and we climb up. Getting over the wall.
We walk around.
"Its beautiful out here" i touch a tree
"It is.. where did you go last night?" She asks
"Went to talk to.. someone" i smile
"Ron" she says
"Ye..-"
"No rons out here" she says and we stand still.
"Dont move" i whisper to her. He walks away and we walk back slowly
-later that night-
"Theres a meeting in like 10 minuets" she says and i nod. We go and sit down.
It starts and i dont pay attention to it until rons dad comes in, obviously drunk with a sword looking thing.
He starts yelling and swinging it around.
In a blink of an eye reg was down, bleeding.
"Rick do it" she says and rick shoots the man.
Jesse starts to tear up. I run to her and grab her
"You dont need to see that" i hug her and walk to her house. Ron looks at me.
I leave and sit on the porch. The door opens and its ron
"Thank you for bringing my mom home" he says and sits next to me. I hug him.
"Im sorry" i whisper to him
"Why?" He asks
He doesnt know
"Your father.... he killed reg.. which got him killed" i say and he looks at me. He stands up and so do i. I hug him tightly. "Im always here if you need to talk" i say and i kiss his cheek.
I walk down the sairs and to my house.
"Edith watch out!" I hear ron i look at him and hear a walker next to me. I push it down and grab my knife out my boot. I stab it in the head.
"Shit" i whisper. I grab rons hand and run to find rick.
"Rick!" I yell for him and then ron does.
"What?" He runs to us.
"A walker got in" i say, trying to catch my breath. "If it werent for ron i wouldve gotten bit" i discreetly grab his hand. We show rick where it was and he sighs.
I walk ron up to his door
"Get some sleep okay" i say to him
"Alright.." he says and walks inside. I walk home and open the door. Carl and enid are kissing
"Oh shit sorry, ill come back up in an hour" i close the door and sit on the couch.
"You can go up" carl walks down
"Alrighty" i say walking up. I look at her and smirk
"Shut up" she giggles
"Someone likes carl" i say sitting on my bed
"I do.. but ron. I dont wanna hurt him" he says
"Then tell him that you dont want to with him and hopefully he doesnt kill anyone" i say
"You go out with him" she sys
"No fuckin way he hates me" he say
"No he doesnt. He talks about you a lot" she looks down
"Oh.." i look away
"He really wants you" she says
"I mean woul you be okay if we ever did" i ask her
"Of course. We all need love and happiness" she smiles and i hug her.
I leave the house and walk to his. I knock on the door and he opens it.
"Edith?" He asks. I pull him close to me. I get on my tippy toes and kiss him.
I pull away and smile, so does he.
"What was that for?" He asks
"I like you" i smile.
"I like you too" he bites his lip
"Tomorrow, meet me by the pond okay?" I say and he nods. I walk back to my house and sit on my bed.
Enid sits there looking at the ceiling
"You okay?" I ask
"You dont hear that?" She asks
"Hear what?" I ask
"That scratching" she whispers
"Probably just a squirrel" i shrug
"Maybe" she smiles and we lay down
"Night enid" i whisper with my eyes closed
"Night Edith" she says
I take a deep breath and fall asleep
