“Clarissa and Jared, you two will be partners.” Mrs. Smith said.
Mary looked at Clarissa and noticed the “uncomfortable look” on her face. Oh no! This would be bad… Mary thought. Jared. Jared Peterson, why of all men did it have to be you? Do you know how much you’ve hurt my best friend, Riss? If you make her cry ever again, you should be ready. I wonder if she’s okay... Mary continued to think.
“Now, go meet with your partners.” Mrs. Smith said.
Everyone were wondering why they had partners and why the opposite gender, but still did what Mrs. Smith asked to do.
“Okay. I know you’re all wondering why have partners when you weren’t even given a project or some assignment to do. I gave you partners because we’re going on a trip, a 5 day trip.” Mrs. Smith voiced.
“But why do we need partners… of the opposite gender?” Emma Jenkins asked.
“Because I was asked to teach you how to respond to the opposite gender…” Mrs. Smith explained.
“Oh.” Emma said surprised.
“I will be giving you the permission slips later on. This trip is required. Every one of you will learn a lot in this and will also be fun, so don’t worry. You will need your partners because of carrying the heavy things and hunt for food. You can go by fours if you like, but you can never leave your partner until it’s time to go to bed. So, understood?” Mrs. Smith elucidated.
“Yes.” Everyone spoke.
Mrs. Smith then started giving out the permission slips to them.
