A year and a half later
I've lived this day before. The day every little girl hopes and dreams for. The one day where everything is about you. You spend hours upon hours and thousands upon thousands preparing for an event that's only going to last a few hours. Your wedding planner is barking orders to her entourage all the while telling you that you look absolutely beautiful, impeccable. You're wearing an expensive might I add, Vera Wang bridal gown and you're walking down the aisle surrounded by hundreds of people some you've never met a day in your life. And then finally you've reached that one person who you are so crazy in love with and can't wait to spend the rest of your life with. You say your vows and you meant them or at least you hope you did. You kiss and the crowd applauds and then you're on to your reception. It's grand. People are mingling, dancing, eating and having a great time. But are you? Are you so concerned with being the perfect bride, making your way to everyone to thank them for coming that you forget to even have a piece of your own wedding cake. I've lived this day before. I'm not making that mistake again.
Today I was going to marry the man of my dreams, again, surrounded by the people I loved. I was going to be wearing a Vera Wang gown, I promise a different one, and I was going to say those vows that I spent hours crafting like I meant it, and I did. I was going to, eat, dance, love my heart out ad have the most amazing time. I was going to do this the way it originally should've been done.
