After having a rough time trying to take the chains off my wrist, the guards entered the room. "Eh, you little filth!" said one of the guards while grabbing my hood and throwing me near the door. "It's time for your show to start" the other guard exclaims while smiling.
"Wait, wait, wait" suggested my sister Katsu, "Shouldn't you start off by saying why you're being hanged?" I thought about it for a while, "Hmm...maybe you're right". Okay fine I'll start off with why I'm being hanged. This all starts after my sister and I, after a whole 5 years of being apart, travel to the biggest Kingdom, Ferdinand, to start a new life. I lived most my life on an island called Daburu while my sister lived in Foudre.
After living in Ferdinand for a while I met a couple of new friends. One of them is Mags, a girl that lived in Tserof, a Kingdom filled with trees, who works as a baker. She usually helped me get food for my sister and I; most of the time we lived there. I also met a black smith named Dojix, who helped make my sister some weapons to sell while she was out being a merchant.
But one special day, a group of bandits, the same ones that destroyed the village I lived in before I was separated from my sister, came into the kingdom and tried to burning everything. I was walking back to my little room in an inn with the weapons for my sister when this happened. I drew a sword from the crate of weapons and ran in front of them yelling,
"Hey you little twig heads, why not fight the person you came for!"
Some of them charged after me but I ran through an alley trying to get them out of the town. Before I ran out of the alley another group of the bandits were coming from the other side. I was confused and didn't know what to do so I yelled while falling to the floor and stayed quiet, waiting to die. After, I think a whole minute I heard nothing at all. I slowly stood up and looked around and only saw dead bodies and houses burned and destroyed. I ran out of there but was soon stopped by guards, "Hey you!" one of the guards yelled "Your that kid that brought the bandits here and blew up all those house and shops!" I took a step back and then said quietly "S-sir I think your mistaken, I d-didn't do anything I ju-" but before I could say anything else the guards grabbed me by my hood and took me all the way to the prison.
"Okay now you can continue from where you left off" Katsu said. "Thank you" I said sarcastically.
The guards dragged me all the way to the town square where I stopped, my hands tied up, looking at all the towns people. Dojix, Mags, and Katsu were standing to one side thinking of a way to get me out of this mess probably. The guards tied the rope around my head and started talking "We are here for the hanging of Maikeru-" "DON'T SAY MY LAST NAME YOU BUCKET HEAD" I screamed out, then he went on to talk about some junk; I don't really know what because his voice was muffled from his helmet. He walked up to the lever and started pulling it but then a boy, the same age as me, came up to the platform and spoke smoothly.
"Kind guard, how much is this boy's bail?" The guards looked at each other confused and then said "About 400 gold coins". The boy took out a whole bag of coins and handed it over "Keep the rest", he took out a dagger, cut the rope and walked me out of the area. Before we left the guards yelled out "If we see him back in this town, he's dead!"
"So um...thank you for that sir" I said, "It's no problem, also the names Alexis" the boy said. While walking out of the kingdom, Dojix, Mags, and Katsu ran up to us both and said "Thank god you're okay; we were worrying since none of us could think of a plan". We walked for a while but Dojix and Mags had to go back to work so they left but the rest of us kept walking. "Well since you're not allowed back into town, looks like you're going to stay with me" said Alexis, "I'm also staying with you" Katsu exclaimed. I stop walking and look at Katsu, "It's okay Katsu you don't have to", "I don't have a choice, the inn was destroyed" she said while walking. We all walked quietly to Alexis's house on top of a mountain and settled down. "Thank you again" I said while sitting down on a chair, "No problem Maikeru, it's my gift to you, plus at least they got what they wanted...now your hanging around my house", there was an awkward silence until I cleared my throat and said "Yeah...no".
