It was the day of the tournament and the whole town gathered in the Colosseum that they built in those 4 days. Mags, Kraby, Katsu, Alix, and I woke up early to get good seats but like always, Maikeru is late. "Hey Katsu, where's Mai?" I said sipping some soda (They decided that since my name was annoying to say their calling me Mai) "I don't know...probably sleeping if anything" Katsu said eating some cotton candy. They all sat down and watched the fighters walk into the battle field, mostly all of them being buff strong people but one or two. When Captain Silver came everyone stood up and bowed then sat as she spoke "Now, as many of you know we are holding this tournament to find out who can be the best suited as my personal guard" she paused for a bit look at all the fighters, "The rules of the tournament are simple, no killing, now let's begin!" Everyone cheers as the fighters go to the waiting area.
As the others waited outside, inside the waiting area the fighters chatted a bit, "Man you guys are going to have it rough if you fight me" "Yeah sure, I'll mass you into the ground and become the Captain's guard!" but there was one fighter, a short kid around 4'11, about the age of 15, sat in the back quietly just listen to the others bragging. He wore a black cloak and a hood that covered the front on his face; the fighters turned to him and a 21 year old dude that didn't seem that fit and started talking "Pfft, you guys don't have a chance here, might as well just leave!" "Yeah! You don't even have the strength make us blink!" but before they could yell anymore the Captain spoke in a faded voice "The first fight will be Tenshi vs Itami!" Tenshi and Itami both walked up to the battle field and drew their weapons, Tenshi had a battle axe and Itami had a great sword. As the battle went on the other watched and Katsu was yelling at them calling them "babies" and "little girls" while the others were still looking around for Maikeru, "Okay for real, does anyone know where Mai is?" Dojix said still drinking his soda, the others shake their head "No...he wasn't even at home, must of got lost or something." After the battle had ended Itami ended up winning and the next battle against Cazco and Kevin, who was the 21 year old man, started. The battle ended faster than the other with Kevin somehow winning, the Captain stood and spoke, "The next battle will be Delios vs-" the Captain paused for a bit as she looks at the name thinking This title...it's just someone pretending right? She cleared her throat and spoke heisting a bit "vs...the Dragons Apprentice" everyone was quiet as the boy walked into the arena still wearing his cloak and spoke softly "Please...just call me "Forgotten", it's has more meaning." Everyone was quiet and Kraby looked at the Captain who had a scared face then looked at "Forgotten" along with everyone else. Delios laughed "Man...can this short stuff really fight like com-" but before he could finished "Forgotten" ran but to him with incredible speed. Everyone stared as Delios fell slowly and fainted, the Captain stood up and looked at "Forgotten" noticing he had no weapon and thought this isn't just pretend...this is real. "Forgotten" had a free pass to the finals so he sat next to Dojix and the others as they watched the battle of Kevin vs Itami. The battle was pretty long, Kevin was very skill with daggers and Itami was fast even while using a great sword. They took turns slashing and kicking each other until Itami eyes turn green and his sword starts glowing. Everyone starts whispering about Itami using magic but the Captain allowed it since it wasn't a rule that you couldn't. Itami ran at Kevin slashing him multiple times. Kevin feel to the floor and his body let out green smoke, "Is he dead?" the captain asked while leaning over the edge, "No, he just has a sleeping curse." Medics took Kevin out of the arena and the tournament was put on pause for a bit. "Forgotten" walked around the plaza buying himself some food and the others watched him, "He sounded familiar" Katsu said, "I agree but who is he" Dojix replied while eating some popcorn, "Maybe he is a merchant or something, I never seen him around" Mags exclaimed. "Forgotten" walked back to the waiting area and started eating his food as Itami watched from the front and he muttered "This kid is going to die...I'll just make it seem like the same thing that I did to Kevin." "Now, let the final battle begin!" Captain Silver yelled across the arena. Itami didn't want to waste time so he charged in super-fast and slashed at "Forgotten" but he kept dodging all his attacks. "Forgotten" punched Itami a few times pushing him back but he kept running at him trying to end this fight with no problems. The fight on while people cheered in the background and Captain Silver watched every single move that was happening making sure "Forgotten" doesn't kill Itami. "You're pretty quick on your feet eh...maybe I'll just have to hit you from two angles" Itami splits into two and smirks and attacks me at an even faster speed. As Itami slashes at "Forgotten" he jumps around trying his best to dodge two people but slips, Itami uses this time to attack him and trys to slice his chest but before he could a bright light came from nowhere. "Sorry about that but I am not just going to let you get away with that" "Forgotten" said while stretching, Itami turns around and becomes one again "Hm, I see...but how about you give up now!" Itami's sword starts glowing green and he charges at "Forgotten". "Forgotten" sighs and then charges at him as well before a loud cling sound is heard and the sound around them flies around. As the sand clears up everyone stares at Itami and "Forgotten" who blocked Itami's attack using two swords. Itami smirks a bit and laughs "Let's see who I'm fighting now" Itami grabs the hood of the cloak and tries to take it off but "Forgotten" kicks him and back flips out of there. After the back flip "Forgotten" spins his blades around before pointing them at Itami. While this is happening Dojix leans in closer to get a good look at the blades "W-wait a minute, those are Mai's blades!" everyone stared at "Forgotten" after hearing that, "I guess I'm caught" he takes off his cloak to reveal it being Mai. Captain Silver stands up and speaks "The rules have changes...you're allowed to kill each other now!" Everyone gasps and then Mai smiles "Okay if you say so" he runs at Itami and slashes him over and over. The battle keeps on going and blood splats over the floor, Mai and Itami both stare at each other tired and barley standing "I'm going to finish this now okay Itami?" Itami looks up "you're in no shape to do so." Mai stands up and crosses both his blades in front of his face creating a white aura around him healing his wounds. He jumps into the air and shots a beam of light at Itami and dives down to him and stabs his chest making him turn into a ball of light and explode. Everyone stares at Mai and starts yelling at him, "Why did you kill him he was a good guy!" "You should have died not him!" Mai sighs "Really...if he was a nice guy then why did I kill him?" Everyone stops and whispers, "As you can see my magic has never killed anyone unless I tell it to...but it will kill any shadow that it fights." Everyone stares at Silver who jumped down and walked into the arena, "So he was a shadow...is that what you're saying?" He nods and walks up to her "So you still want to fight me?" She backs up and takes out a metal whip "Of course I do...Dragon Apprentice" It was about sunset and the battle between Captain Silver and Mai was about to start. Kraby and the others were scared since they knew Silver was the most powerful person they knew but they still had hope for Mai. Mai was the one to start the battle this time, he glowed white and charged at Silver who was attacking him but he kept dodging using his speed as an advantage. Mai's left sword starts glowing white and he appears in front of silver but right before he got do anything her whip grabbed him by the waist and threw him into the sky. He turns around to dive back down but metal pillars fly at him at full speed. Mai jumps down from pillar to pillar trying not to get hit but as I almost make it down to the ground Silver grabs me again with her whip and smashes me into the ground. "You're not as strong as I thought...but you'll do" Silver said while her whip unwarps, Mai stood up and spits some blood "I'm not even done yet." He puts his swords up to his face and crosses them, "I have been gifted with the power of light and dark, the power of the two dragons that keep the world balanced...now feel the wrath of the dragon apprentice!" I charge at her leaving a black and white streak behind me, Silver panics and tries to attack but Mai slices button of her shoe making her slip. She struggles to get up but Mai smashes the ground creating a beam of light that goes through her body, everyone in the background gasp thinking that he killed her but after the light disappeared she was laying their her clothes all ripped up and had scratches and blood on her. Mai walks over to her and grabs her hand helping her up and while he does this his hand glows white healing her wounds. "Sorry about your clothes but I can't anything about that" Mai said looking up at the sky while the boys in the background start whistling, Kraby and Dojix though were on the floor bleeding from their nose, Silver blushes a lot and creates a metal wall around the battle field and yelled "The fight is over, the winner is Mai the Dragon Apprentice!" After a couple of hours they cleaned up everything and Mai and Silver walked over to the castle and sat down in the training field staring at each other and guards around them making sure nothing happens. "I know you don't really want to be my personal guard...but I need you too" Silver said whispering, "Why is that?" I asked a little confused. Silver stared at her guards then continued "There is a war...against the shadows that we are fighting while the other towns are fighting a different war." Mai stared at her and sighed "I know, that's what I was going to tell you, but I guess I will help since I have to do it anyway." Mai and Silver stood up and walked into the castle and talked while walking, "I know about a prophecy that has to do with me and my friends...we must destroy the shadows" Silver looked down angry a bit "So, you are just using this place as a way of taking the glory?" "No, I want to win with other people's help, but I must go on a journey with just my friends." We walked to her room and talked, "So you're going to meet the spirit guardian?" Silver asked while drinking tea, "Yes, I need the weapons from her if we are going to fight the shadows." "Then do what you must...but you still will be my personal guard until I don't need you anymore." They took turns showering and Mai feel asleep on the couch while Silver slept on the bed, "I'm sorry if this feels weird...but if you aren't here they'll think you're a spy" Silver said while yawning, "It's fine I understand...good night" Mai stood up from the couch and thought This...feels weird. Mai walked around the room a bit and then looked out the window at the town Yeah, this feels really weird.
