It was a normal, slow day in my 7th grade history class. We had completed some lesson on something I slept through, it was amazing that I could keep a B average. We were given a break at the end of class, which we had been given almost everyday that semester. I had been reading the Percy Jackson series and had worked my way up to third book. I hadn't had any friends in that class so I was silently reading my book in my stupid UnderArmour hoodie and these ugly jeans and shoes, that at the time I had liked. I hadn't been paying attention to my surroundings, which would explain why I didn't see these two girls walking up to talk to me. The taller of the two girls, who I would later find out was named Nicole, asked in a very excited voice, "Is that a Percy Jackson book?" I said yes and she continued to ask as if I were an idiot with, "You did start from the first book?" I said, "Of course! Why would I pick up a random book in a series and read it?" and she complained that some people didn't. Her friend, whose name was Anna, seemed to act like this was normal. I didn't get to read much the rest of the class, but I was glad to have someone to talk to... I had a friend.
