Daryl and I had been together since day one of the Apocalypse. He had proposed to me shortly before the world went to shit. We were married in a little ceremony in front of my family. Then people stared changing, so we made a run for it, into the wilderness with his crossbow and some food. We were together for 157 days thereafter. Then he went out on a supply run and never came back.

456 days since he left. 125 dead geeks. 40 showers. I began to make my journey east, to try and make it to the sea. Which meant I would have to pass by Atlanta, Georgia. I started to near the city as I heard one of the loudest explosions of my life, a bomb had went off in the direction I had just came from. Luckily, I was a smart person so I found a police station and barricaded myself inside. The only bad thing was that there was a geek inside the holding cell. I quickly took care of it but decided to just cover it up with a tarp until tomorrow when it was light.

457 days. 126 dead geeks. I woke up the next day due to a crashing sound inside of the station. I grabbed my butcher knife and slowly made my way into the main area of the station, only to find a dirty man with bloody hands on the floor. I walked stealthily around the corner to try and get a good look at him only to drop my knife. He looked up at me. Daryl. It was Daryl. 457 days. Oh god I missed him. I ran over to him and fell to the floor. I grabbed him with so much force and buried my head into his neck, crying. He wrapped his arms around me.
"What the hell Daryl? You were supposed to come right back. Just an easy supply run, remember?" I stuttered into his neck as he gripped onto me with his good hand.
"Oh Lyra, baby, I'm so sorry. I tried to get back but I couldn't. Then I forgot where you were when I tried to look for you. You have no idea how much I missed you." He whispered in my ear as I was placing soft kisses onto his neck. Oh god how I missed his musky dirty scent.
"Yes I do understand how much you missed me because I missed you too babe. I tried to look for you but I just kind of gave up. Daryl, it's been over a year." I looked up at him solemnly, tears in my eyes. He gazed down at me running his fingers through my tangled hair as he leaned in to kiss me. It was amazing being able to kiss him again since I thought I would never see him again.
"Cmon baby, I have a group who have all survived and I think you'll like all of them." He helped me stand up.
"Babe first let me clean up your hand." I took him into the bathroom where I keep my wound cleaning supplies. Once we were done, I gathered up all of my supplies and we made our way, hand in hand, to the prison where Daryls' group was.
