Chapter 5 - memories are weird, but I can't remember why though ...

Tara's POV

The Fae Project ... It sounded so familar but I couldn't remember where I had heard it from, or if I had ever heard it before. It sounds like something pretty insane. I couldn't believe parents would do that to their own child, genetically modify it so it wold be the perfect killer.

I looked at the boys that were scatted in different places around the room. Alex was the only one who hadn't moved from his originally spot, he was the one to tell me all the information they had on Trent and on Fae.

"So from the reaction you had before, it sounds like you know Trent," Cam said after I soaked in all Alex had to say, "Do you know what school he goes to? Or any other bits of information about him?"

I nodded my head the slighted bit, I regret that I knew Trent. Everytime I heard his name it sounded like nails on a chalk board, I hated that guy so much it was ridiculous. He had bullied me a long time ago, it went on for five years but one day I just snapped and ended up breaking his nose and jaw in one punch. A lot people had a new found respect for me after it, but then all the popular thought the opposite of me.

Cam and Dean both looked at me with questioning looks, hoping that I would elaborate on what I knew about him, "He goes to St. Louis High, same as me. He is one of the popular guys that believes he owns the whole school. I think he is still dating Penny, who is queen bi-atch of the school and also the world's biggest tramp." That was all I could really think of off the top of my head, I had heaps more dirt on him but I was too lazy to share.

Dean chuckled, "Seems to me like I'm going to have to play the bad boy role at school again."

I gaped at him, "You honestly think that you can pull off a senior? The teachers aren't idiots there and not to mention the students will eat you up alive!"

His smirk grew wider as he watched me slightly freak out, "That is where you come in idiot. Your going to help me get information on Trent."

My jaw dropped to the ground, LIKE HELL I'M GOING TO DO THAT! True, I wasn't part of the popular group, or the nerdy group. I was just ... average, hell I have always been average.

The guys stared at me as I focused on nothing, trying to organise that tornado that just went through my head, "Tara? It's not that hard of a job," Mitch waved his hand in front of my eyes.

I clicked back into the world, "I don't think I can help you guys," I looked down at my feet as I muttered my answer.

When I looked back up Dean shrugged his shoulders, "Like hell I would need help from you. You would probably end up getting us busted," He chuckled to himself

I felt the blood in me rise but I fought to control it. I'll beat the crap out of him later, I'll catch him off guard and drowned him in the toilet. Mwahahahaha!! I am an evil genius! I started dancing my happy dance which just involved a lot of crumping.

The guys looked at me up and down before voicing their opinion.

"Random but hot," Sam whsipered to Alex.

"Imma agree on dat one," Alex replied.

"Dayum girl you go!" Mitch tried impersonatiing a black girl before smashing his back into mine and crumping with me.

We did that for a few seconds laughing till we were ripped apart. Something was gripping my arm and pulling me away from my crumping buddy.

"Crumping buddy!" I screamed out to Mitch

His face fell as he reached out to me, "Crumping buddy!"

Next thing I knew I was being thrown into a dark room. I landed on a soft bed but it hurt none the less when my head hit something metallic. I rubbed the back of my head and felt something very familiar.

I looked over to the person that threw me into their room, "Dean? Why do you have a gun on your bed?" My voice was weak, I was never sure why but I hated being around guns, something just gave me the heeby jeebys when I was around them.

"... Cause," was all he said before he leaned against the door, blocking any way of escape.

I glared at him hard, wishing that I had heat vision so that I could melt him to the ground, "Why did you throw me into your rape dungeon?"

He chuckled, "Sweetie this is far from a rape dungeon."

I rolled my eyes at him, "What did you throw me in here?"

We had locked eyes for seemed like an eternity till he said anything. His shoulders sagged in defeat as he squeezed his eyes shut and then opened them up again, "I wanted to apologise."

You know those moments when your drinking coffee and someone tells you something dramatic and you spit all of your coffee out? Well this was definitely one of those moments, "Wh-what?" I stuttered trying to regain my composure after spitting my imaginary coffee.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being such a dick to you for the past few days, and if you are gonna help me on this mission well then I think we should put our differences aside," He shifted off the wall and stood in front of me. He held his hand out, "Agreed?"

I looked at him for a second before shaking his hand. True this guy did act like a dick to me, but I can't not forgive someone after they had apologised to me. My friends said that I'm too nice, I just say I like giving people the benefit of the doubt.

"Now," He quipped and pulled me to my feet and started pulling me, "Out of my room so I can sleep."

A loud bang sounded behind me, I twirled around and saw Dean's door shut behind me. That little biatch!

I stomped back to my room and fell on my bed. Not bothering with the large pile of clothes I buried myself under the sheets and prayed that I would fall asleep quickly.

The last thought I had before sleep consumed me into a blissful silence was, if I stay here forever, will Haziel think I'm dead? Or worse, will he give up on me .... and himself?
