I'm not lying when I say my jaw literally dropped open. All these emotions came at me and well this happened.

"This is Lexi." Shawn says. I look at her in complete shock and then burst into tears. I engulf her in a bone crushing hug until she sorta pushes me away from her.

"Lexi , I can't believe you're actually here! We all thought Lydia was bluffing! You don't know how sorry I am, I-" I was going to say more, but Lexi cuts me off.

"Lauren, it's okay. I'm alive and well and that's all that matters!" Lexi tells me in calm voice. I take a deep breath and nod my head. I wipe the tears from my eyes and sit down.

"You okay love?" Dan asks me, rubbing my back.

"Yeah, it's just been a very stressful day that's all." I reply, leaning my head on him. Dan kisses me on the cheek, making me relax slightly.

"So Lauren, this is your boyfriend?" Lexi asks, changing the subject.

"Yep, for over a year." I say, looking up at her and smiling.

"And I always thought you would never get a boyfriend." Lexi responds, killing the mood.

"Well we're both not exactly 'right' in the head so..." I tell her, trailing off.

"Yeah tell me about it." Lexi mutters. This situation just went from happy to awkward in like the 2 minutes she's been here. This is going to be a long night.

========

"Guys?" Kian says, poking his head out of the door. We look up at him, excited but tired.

"Yeah?" I answer, becoming slightly anxious.

"You can come in now." Kian replies, softly. I smile gratefully and pick myself off the chair. We all follow Kian into the room, trying our hardest to be quiet.

"Hey Lauren!" Mak says, looking absolutely exhausted.

"Hey Mak!" I whisper, walking next to her bedside. Kian takes the baby from Mak and cradles her carefully.

"Oh and you've brought Shawn and some girl." Mak responds, her eyes drifting to Shawn and Lexi who were standing behind me.

"Oh that is Lexi." I tell her, trying to keep a straight face. Happiness lights up her face.

"Oh my lord! Lexi I can't believe you're here!" Mak exclaims, opening her arms to hug Lexi.

"Yeah I can't really either." Lexi mutters hugging Mak.

"Kian can I hold her?" I ask, turning to him. Kian nods and hands her off to me.

"Hi precious." I whisper, rocking her slightly. Her big blue eyes stare back at me.

"What's her name?" I say to nobody in particular, not taking my eyes off of her.

"Abigail Lawley. Abby for short." Mak tells me.

"She's adorable." I reply, smiling.

"Lauren could I maybe hold her?" Dan asks, speaking up for the first time since we got in here.

"Of course babe." I respond, carefully giving Dan Abby.

"Hi princess." Dan whispers to Abby. Dan smiles and laughs slightly. I walk over to Mak and put my arm around her.

"He's going to make a great father some day." Mak mutters to me as we watch Dan with Abby.

"You think? He keeps telling me how he doesn't think he'll be a good father." I say to Mak.

"Most definitely. Just look at him with Abby. Just imagine him with your child. Not saying you should have kids any time soon, unless you guys both want to." Mak explains. I smile and think about a family with Dan. My dream life.

"Aw don't get me excited for kids! I don't want them for a few years!" I exclaim quietly. Shawn and Lexi are standing towards the back of the room in a deep conversation. Wonder what about. They've never been close before.

=======

"Knock Knock Knock!" Someone says, entering the room. It was the next day and Dan and I were visiting Mak again in the hospital.

"Mom!" Mak exclaims, looking at her mom who was walking towards her. Mak hands Abby off to Kian and hugs her mom.

"I can't believe this is actually happening! I can't believe you didn't tell me as well! Either way, this is so exciting!" Her mom says.

"Oh my gosh Mom I can't believe you're here! It's been so long! Thank you for coming!" Mak squeals, her eyes lighting up with joy.

"Don't thank me! Thank your best friend. She called me and asked me to come!" She responds, looking at me.

"Hey Trisha!" I say, butting into their conversation.

"Hey Lauren!" Trisha says, giving me a hug as well.

"Thank you so much Lauren, I really needed this." Mak exclaims, smiling widely.

"I know you did!" I reply, hugging Mak tightly.

"That's not all!" Another person says behind me.

"Mom, Dad, you're here too?" I exclaim, giving them hugs. While we get caught in conversation, Kian introduces himself to Trisha.

"Of course we are! We wouldn't miss this for the world! Plus, I needed an excuse to see my baby girl again!" My mom replies, smiling.

"Well I'm glad you guys came. I needed some sense of home, it's been pretty hectic the pass few months!" I say, sighing.

"Why don't you just come back home for a week or two? Everyone back in Michigan really misses you! You could bring Dan as well!" My dad suggests, wrapping his arms around my mother. Even after all these years, they're still crazy about each other.

"Should we Dan? We haven't traveled in a little bit plus I could really use a week away from Lydia and Phil." I ask, turning to Dan who was watching my conversation  with my parents intently.

"I think we should. Plus, I've been dying to meet the rest of your family." Dan says, now wrapping his arms around me.

"Alright, it's settled. We're going to Michigan!"
