Not as Bad as I Thought

Louis lead them out of the Great Hall and into the cold and dark hallways. It was pretty late now and the Prefects were leading all the students to their houses and to bed. Before they left, there were told that their house designed accessories and schedules would be in their rooms.

They ascended the large stairs. Cher kept a strong hold on Harry's hand. She would always hold onto him when they were ever in public. She knew how much he hated it.

They stopped at the top leading out to an entire corridor full of stair cases. Not only were their so many, they were moving.

Harry stopped in his tracks. Moving stairs? What the hell is this place? Cher squeezed his hand, showing him that it was alright to move on. But that wasn't the only thing that freaked him out. The walls were covered with pictures. Moving pictures. Its as if the people in the pictures were real people.

The Prefect they had, Harry thought was a bit familiar when he noticed that it was the boy named Liam that was at their table. He was a Seventh year. When a stair case stopped at their side, he quickly lead them up it.

Harry's legs were shaking like mad. He just tried to keep his mind on the hand held tightly around his. They all made their way to the top just as the stair case started to move back.

The boy, Liam, turned to them. "Now, this is your Hogwarts house. This will your courtiers for the rest of the year."

He gave the password, that he also told everyone else in the house, to the lady in the picture and it opened to a small room.

They all entered the room, surprised that it seemed bigger when they walked in. There were a set of collied, concrete stairs on each side of the room. In the middle, had a long couch in front of a fire place. The rest of the room was filled with tables with stools, armchairs, and book shelves.

Liam bidded them goodnight and went off to his private room.

Cher spoke up, "Is there a bed time here," she asked Louis.

He laughed. "Nah, only for first years."

"Oh, that's good. I'd like to go through my schedule before too late," she said.

Louis walked on over to the couch and fully laid out before anyone else could clame it. Cher made the turn to go up the stairs to the girls rooms.

Harry grabbed her arm with wide eyes.

"I'm just going to get my schedule," she said.

"Stay up with me?" He pleaded.

"Of course," she said, "now go sit with Louis, until I get back."

Then she left. He decided he would take his time by slowly going up the stairs and to his room, finding that his bed was already made, before going back down with his schedule.

He carefully made it over to the couch. Louis had a book out in front of him, silently moving his foot to an unknown beat.

Harry stood at the end of the couch. Hey, could I sit here? Hey, wassup, alright if I sit here? Mind if I take a seat? He thought of all the things that he could say but nothing came from his mouth.

Then a voice jarred his thoughts. "Hey, are you wanting to sit here?" Louis asked, shutting his book.

Harry stood with his mouth hanging open for a second but then he closed it and tightly nodded.

Louis swung his legs over and patted the seat next to him. Harry hesitantly sat down.

He swore that he could just feel the awkwardness in the air.
