"Connor get your fat ass out of that shower right now!" I hear Crystal screaming as she pounds on the bathroom door.
I can hear the loud hissing of the shower in the bathroom which is next door to my room. The nut job hammering the door down is my older sister Crystal, Queen Bee, professional drama queen and head cheerleader. Yay. I hear the bathroom door open and poke my head out of my room to see what's going on.
Connor, the full time player, jerk and school quarterback, walks out of the bathroom with his navy towel wrapped low around his hips. Ugh! Does he ever wear clothes around the house! Crystal glares at him then at me before stalking into the bathroom, making sure to walk into Connor as she does so.
"Eugh! You take so long! And you look no better. You don't even care" Crystal whines at her twin before slamming the door behind her.
Connor glance over at me, his green eyes sparkling and his blonde hair pasted flat to his head.
"What got her panties in a twist?" He asks with a grin.
I shrug as I laugh to myself going back into my room.
"Charlie?" Connor calls smirking.
I stick my head out of the door, "What?"
"I hope your not going to school like that. You'll never make friend let alone get laid".
I withdraw back to my room without a comment, shutting him out in the corridor on his own. Douchebag. I hear his foot steps die away as he retreats to his own room to get ready.
Of course I wasn't going to school like this, in my read checkered pyjama trousers and my Gryffindor t-shirt. I'd only just jumped out of bed when Crystal started shouting, my brown hair is unbrushed and hanging messily around my face. I have no make up on. Jeez. I might not care about the way I look as much as they do but I knew this wasn't going to make me fit in. Bloody hell give me some credit.
Hoping to avoid Connor and Crystal I threw on some black skinny jeans and my batman t-shirt before my brushing my hair and quickly doing some make up. Not like Crystals where you need a hammer and chisel to get it off, just some mascara and eyeliner. Lip gloss wasn't really my area, it gets into your hair way too easily.
After grabbing my bag and oversized maroon hoodie off the back of the desk chair in my room. I headed down stairs as quickly and quietly as possibly. I went straight to the kitchen. What? You can't expect a girl to go hungry. I grabbed a pop tart and shoved it in the toaster while I took a drink and an apple from the fridge.
The bathroom door unlocked and Crystal went storming to her room screeching about the mess Connor had made. That's my queue. I snatched the pop tart just as it was ejected from the toaster and made a break for it, out of the door and towards school. I'm not hanging around for that fight.
As I was walking to school happily munching on my pop tart I started to wonder about this new school. Westview High School. It wouldn't be so bad but I'm starting in the third week of September, so I'm gonna be "the new girl", a title I desperately didn't want. Connor got a football scholarship so we moved here for him but things got complicated so now we're starting late. Fun times. Connor and Crystal will have no trouble fitting in. Head cheerleader and quarterback, both tall, blonde, green eyed and insanely popular. Yeah they'll be fine.
I roll my eyes just thinking about it. I'm nothing like them. I'm shorter, darker with no desire to be the centre of attention. 5 ft 3 inches, brown hair and eyes. In my last school I has a small group of friends and we were just normal. That's all I want here, hide in the background and pass all of my classes while keeping up with my TV shows. That's all.
