I tried so hard to be happy
Everything in the book
The amusement parks
Trips to the movies
Going to huge parties
Concerts
Races
Carnivals and circuses
Nothing could make me smile
I gave up
I think that's why God brought you to me
Because that brought light back to my eyes
I could enjoy a movie with you
Or a trip to the mall
A day at the water park
But that's not why I smiled
It was because you were with me
Every time you whispered during the climax of the movie
All the terrible jokes in the stores
The screaming in my ear down the water slides
Just talking seemed to help me
All the video game battles
That damn smile
That's what got me
Your laugh
Your sarcasm
Your voice
Your constant singing
Your friendship with me
Your kindness
How you get ready to fight at the slightest sound at night
All the small moments together
That sleepover where we fell asleep at six am
The time we waited for the slide for an hour
Just us talking while pointlessly waiting
Only it wasn't pointless to me
It was one of the best times I've ever had
It was all those little times we were together
