So here's the crazy thing: Invisibility is everywhere...

I mean sure, people tend to focus on the things we can see. Like, matter, living things...

But there's also the stuff we can't see. Like sound waves, or gases...

And a few things we miss even if they're in plain sight...

Like I said: Invisibility is all around us...

Even in the most obvious and familiar places, these opposites exist...side by side...

The seen...and the unseen...

And the same pattern repeats itself...over and over...

Those bright shiny objects...they soak up all the attention...

And right at the same time, those invisible ones right under our noses...don't...

That's just the way things are...

We can't change it...

No matter how much we want to...

At least that's what I thought...

Simon just stared at his book. Lost in thought as the class dragged on. Not knowing the bell just rang and everyone leaving. Ms. Smith smiled to herself and sighed as she walked over, she gently tapped Simon's shoulder, catching his attention.

"Ms. Smith, fancy seeing you here." He quickly gathered his things, standing up.

"I really hope you were thinking about the marvels of science and not lost in your fantasy world." She put her hands on her hips.

Simon chuckled, looking at his teacher. "Actually, fantasy is the new hype, unlike those skinny jeans you are almost too old to pull off."

Ms. Smith handed him back his test, which as always had an 'A' on it.

Simon smirked. "Ah, look at that..." He started walking to the front of the class to leave.

Ms. Smith sighed. "Not so fast."

Simon stopped, slowly turning back around, walking towards her again.

"Yeah, I got your entry for the semester project. Really, turning a Papaya into a battery? I've already got several other students turning vegetables into batteries."

Simon smiled innocently. "In my defense, papaya's a fruit."

Ms. Smith just nodded. "Mmm." She started to walk away from Simon. "Well, your proposal is officially declined."

Simon frowned, following her. "Wha? Jeanette gets all As and you're letting her test how Guniea Pigs do on an ice cream diet."

Jeanette looked up. "It gives them gas."

Ms. Smith didn't even look at her. "Yeah, thanks, Jeanette. Remember to put that in your report."

Jeanette looked back down at the rodent in the cage. "That's it Mr. Whiskers, no more Rocky Road for you." She shook her head as she left the classroom.

Ms. Smith looked back at Simon. "I wanna see you challenge yourself. Do something relevant. Something to do with transformation. This is the same matter. In two distinct forms. Once is dense, dull..."

Simon cut in. "Much like this conversation..."

Ms. Smith glared at him. "The other is transparent, brilliant." She handed him the objects. "I'm assigning you a new project." She walked to the back of the classroom as Simon looked at the objects. "Figure out what that substance is and transform it back into it's oringinal state."
