Lights Out

The Beginning

Just as he was finishing up his project for work tomorrow, the power went out. He was filled with such rage because this project was assigned a month ago and only when his wife asked him how it was going did he remember to type it up. Now that dumb woman forgot to pay the electrical bill again! He didn't even get to save it. What he didn't know was that, he wasn't the only one with this problem, the power went out all over the world, leaving everyone in a dark mess filled with car crashes, and suicidal kids saved from jumping off the chair, and from husband beating wifes and kids, and teenagers unable to do their homework due to darkness.

All the way in England a woman gave birth, but when the power went out, the nurse was so shocked that she dropped the baby girl on its head, the baby died on impact. 10 year old Genesis Parks was with 11 year old Kyle Smith, her childhood best friend, 15 year old Isaac Parks, her older brother, and 14 year old Mason Gray, her brother's best friend.
All were startled when the beautiful baby girl, whose name was going to be Ariel (Genesis was obsessed with The Little Mermaid, the whole family agreed on the name) died all of a sudden. But none were as shocked as Mr and Mrs. Parks. As Mrs.Parks was crying her heart out over her lost child Mr.Parks stood there, eyes wide open and with his jaw dropped.

"I'm so sorry! The power went out and I'm scared of the dark, and it startled me and I dropped her. I should have kept a firm grip on her, I'm terribly sorry!" Said the nurse with tears in her eyes and a American accent, which shows that she is not from England.

"It's ok, accidents happen." Said Mrs.Parks through sobs, and truth be told, this was not their first dead child.

Their oldest child, Melissa Parks, was kidnapped when leaving a movie with a friend, who was also kidnapped but was let go the same day Melissa died. The kidnapper were nice enough to send back her bruised and tortured body so they could give her a proper funeral. The kidnapper turned out to be her ex, who turned crazy the moment she left him to focus on her studies.
Days later they found him hanging from the ceiling with a note saying "At least we could be together, even if I had to bring her a bad way, my angel can be home and we can be together forever."
Genesis family did not sue the boy's parents, because they were going through the same thing, except their son kidnapped and tortured somebody then later hanged himself.

Now as Genesis stared at her new and now dead sister, she felt the same sadness as she felt when Melissa died came rushing back, and she used her long, curly, dirty blonde hair to cover her face as she cried from her emerald green eyes.

Kyle put a hand on her tan skin which was covered by a shirt that said  "I'm a big sister now!" with a grey sweater from Walmart along faded blue jeans with holes with purple converse.

Kyle's chocolate eyes were filled rage, he was wearing a red shirt with blue stripes and khakis flip flops and his red hair (Genesis dyed it when he was sleeping but it was naturally light brown) was styled in what he calls "Wavy Shag".

Isaac's icy blue eyes were filled with tears, his sandy blonde hair was styled in a haircut boys call "Undercut". He was wearing a shirt that said "2 cool for school" that had the emoji with sunglasses on it, he was wearing blue shorts and black adidas

Mason's stormy grey eyes were, well, stormy and filled with concern as he look at weeping Genesis. His dark hair was recently cut and the stylist called it "The Side Part" which suit him really well, and yes people, 10 year old Genesis had a crush on 14 year old Mason! But he was dressed in a black shirt and blue pants with green tennis shoes.

"Hey are you ok?" Asks Mason
"Ya! Just got dust in my eyes" Genesis replies.
Personally she didn't know how he could see her. It was terribly dark in here.

Life went on in this new world.
A couple days after the event in the hospital, Mrs.Parks was found hanging from the ceiling. Depression took her to a better place as it did for her other 2 daughters. At least she would see them again.

As for Mr.Parks, he was shot at by a hungry man, who had killed his wife and all of his kids. He was so hungry after that he did the worst thing imaginable as to eat his now dead family. Mr.Parks was added to the menu as the kids ran.
The man tried shooting the kids and hit Kyle in the leg. He survived due to Genesis's healing skills. Mrs.Parks was a doctor and taught Genesis everything she knew where Mr.Parks taught Isaac all of his engineering skills.

Genesis had saved her teacher in the beginning of 5th grade when she got a heart attack.
Isaac built his first phone by 5th grade using scraps of metal he found in the garage.
Both parents were so proud.

But that was 5 years ago.
Now 15 year old Genesis was trying to calm her hair down with a wood comb Mason had made for her in the tent Kyle and Isaac made for her.

Soon she went over to her pile of clean clothes and picked out a black bra and pink underwear to wear under her blue belly shirt with black skinny jeans and camo combat boots. She pulled her long, curly dirty blonde hair into a wavy fishtail braid using the hair ties her brother found for her when he went hunting.
She was so excited, she could barely keep her cool.

"Today is the start of a new day." Whispered Genesis with a huge grin on her face, she went outside and took a breathe of fresh air "Today, I will finally get to go hunting." She said to herself as she made her way to Isaac's tent to get started on her hunting lesson

NEW BOOK!!!!! I'm starting to like this more than My Brothers Best Friend. When I started that book, I already had my doubts, but with this book, I'm already liking it so that must be good news!
