Bill Cipher sat in the Great Hall, lazily watching the first years get sorted. He remembered his sorting. Oh, how the odds were ever in his favor! The fifth year boy combed through his golden blonde hair with his fingers, a fringe was now covering his blind eye.
He had friends now. No, not James, Remus, Sirius, or Peter. They were somewhat acquaintances, but whenever they pulled a prank on the Slytherins, it would always affect Bill too. So, he got mad at them, and then they just barely talked. Now, he was friends with a few select Slytherins: Severus Snape ("You're friends with Snivellous?!" Sirius had asked, surprised), Regulus Black ("His prejudiced BROTHER?" James had questioned Bill angrily), Evan Rosier ("Seriously?" Remus had wondered, an eyebrow arched), and occasionally Lucius Malfoy ("Ugh, not that platinum pansy," Sirius also commented, disgusted).
Severus, Evan, Regulus, and Bill were a quartet, almost always seen together. They met in first (and second in Regulus's case) year, Severus and Bill new that they'd end up sharing a room, but soon Evan joined them. Their Slytherin dorm was made of three beds, and it was quite nice.
"Bill," Regulus whispered to him, "are you bored too?" Bill just nodded, scanning the Ravenclaw table. Man, had Eleanor changed. Not only did she grow out her hair, she became more confident, more likable. She was the most popular girl in Ravenclaw, now, and was dating Sirius Black. When he noticed that she wasn't with her house, he spotted her blue and bronze tie over by Sirius. No, snogging Sirius. DIDN'T THEY KNOW THAT FIRST YEARS WERE BEING SORTED? WHY DIDN'T DUMBLEDORE SEE THIS?
Bill was angry. He was tempted to use his prefect powers and deduct house points, but he decided against it. Not only would that lose respect for him from the other houses, but he also didn't want to cause a scene. He hadn't notice that his blue eyes were flashing red.
"Um, Bill?" A voice distracted him from his thoughts.
"Yeah Eva?"
"Y-You're eye is red!" She squeaked. Bill blinked, took some calming breaths, and smiled charmingly.
"Better?" He asked her and she nodded, smiling slightly.
Fifteen minutes later, the sorting was over. Finally, they could eat.
"The Forbidden Forest is FORBIDDEN..." Dumbledore recited the announcements perfectly, and Bill was glancing at the table.
"Man, I want food," he said out loud, and the entire hall stared at him, including Dumbledore. They began to slowly laugh, and Dumbledore quieted them down.
"Well, Mr. Cipher, I was just about to say some words, and then we'd eat, but it appears that you and some of the other students," Dumbledore looked directly at the Marauders, "want your food, so, with these words: Bubbles! Rhino! Oddity! Squeak! YOU MAY ALL EAT!" The food appeared and everyone cheered.

As soon as everyone was fed, Bill and Eva led the first years into the Slytherin dungeons, and said the password.
"The password is ambition."
They walked into the common room.
"Okay," Bill shouted over the talkative students. "FIRSTIES! BOYS LEFT, GIRLS RIGHT! GOODNIGHT!" He walked left to his dorm, and noticed that his stuff was there. Like always. While none of the other boys were in the room, he took off his robes and threw on a pair of Slytherin sweat pants and a black V-Neck. Bill hopped onto the bed farthest from the door, and moved his trunk over near it. He dug through the trunk, and found the picture in the pocket watch. He wasn't sure what it meant, but he'd figure it out.
The watch had a background picture of a pine tree, six-fingered hand, llama, shooting star, ice bag (or ice pack), glasses, a star with an eye in the center, a symbol that would be seen on a fez probably, question mark, and also a heart with a stitch through it. "Huh," he said to himself. Apparently it belonged to his father, and was made for Bill. Continuing to stare at the watch, Bill then shut it and traced the engravings on the front. A triangle with an eye in the center stood in the middle (it wore a top hat and had legs which Bill thought to be awfully cartoony) and other weird marking or symbols around it. He had gotten it for Christmas the first year he was at Hogwarts, and on the bottom was engraved, "To Bill, Love Anne and Leonidas (Your Parents)."
In the summer before school, Erick, who had just turned sixteen a day before Bill turned fifteen, had told him to come with him to get a tattoo. Keeping the pocket watch in mind, he had gotten his entire back done with the front of the pocket watch (the triangle guy and the symbols). He even got it on his arms, one in a circle -like a cuff- and the other just a line. Of course, while he was at Hogwarts, he used a spell to cover up the tattoos.
Bill did the counter-spell and looked at the tattoos on his arms. "I wonder what they mean..." He said to himself, before using the spell to cover them once more.
This year, Bill would be taking divination. Before this year he had taken ancient runes, but he thought that divination would be a nice change (plus it was an easy class, apparently).
"Well, goodnight, Nobody," he murmured to himself, before pulling the blankets up and covering himself in warmth. Severus and Evan were outside of their dorm, partying. It was the first day, after all.
