(Queen Paradox's POV)
-5 years later-
During the course of 5 years, many things changed in the way we live. The Vampire King has yet to give up on finding me as I am still giving hope to the other Angels that we may still be able live in peace once again.
He did everything he could. He even sent his whole army on searching for us and that just made our lives tougher. But you know what it did to us? Instead of hiding under the rocks while cowering in fear, we managed to build a hidden settlement in the far eastern territory of what was left of the Angelic Kingdom.
We learned to fight. Even I did. Though we wouldn't have managed without the help of a friend that we met while on the way.
Her name is Rena. She's a witch. I sort of saved her from being killed by a pack of wolves when I went out to hunt for food. Well, went on a hunt secretly, that is. Since then, she dedicated her life on protecting me. She even resorted on making a very very difficult spell to make our settlement invisible that made her pass out for a week.
She said, and I quote, "I will not hesitate to sacrifice my own life to protect you." Eventhough I did not ask her to do so, I feel secure and warm inside. Maybe knowing that someone's got your back makes a person feel this way. I am quite happy with the way we are in now.
But we can't stay this way forever. We can't just keep on hiding and hoping that the Vampire King would just decide the we aren't worth his time. We need to fight back. If we were to do this now, I know that we would surely lose. But what else can we do? It's been five years, and yet, we still haven't done much.
I'm even starting to worry that we are the only ones who made it out of the Kingdom in time. That we are the only ones who can do something for our kind. But for now, I can only do as much as live until the day comes that we can take back our freedom. The day when we can all live peacefully again.
"My Queen!" And that shout, my dear, ended my mussing for the time being. I turned around and looked at the one who called for me.
"Oh. Hi Robby?" I answered his shout with a, no doubt, guilty expression on my face.
'Crap, caught again!' I thought to my self.
You see, since Robby first saw me that faithful day, he took the responsibility of being my personal guard right on. And may I say that the other Chosen's were shocked to say the least. Apparently, he doesn't just volunteer to do a job on his own accord. All of the jobs that he's ever done were kind of just forced on him. That, may I say, is a great deal.
And I also may say that I really don't make his job easy. Why? I always try to sneak out. And why do I sneak out, you ask? I do so because I want to feel some normalcy in my life, even if it's only for a small period of time.
He narrowed his eyes on me before saying, "Where do you think you're going, my Queen? You do know that when you leave the settlement that the vampires can see you, right?"
