Paige Avalon

Flipping flip crap! He actually answered.

My voice disappeared and my breath hitched the instant I heard him speak. His voice got deeper. I wonder if he looks different. He probably does.

"Excuse me, sir the plane is going to take off soon. I need you to please put away your phone."

A female's voice was barely audible through the phone, but I heard her.

"Sorry, I was just making a quick call. I'm sure it would be okay if I could be on a little longer?" His voice was distant and smoother than it used to be. A charmer. Players never do change.

A high school girl like giggle rang back to my ears, making me cringe. She probably saw his smile. Lucky witch. His smiles use to send tornados into my tummy and weaken my knees.

"Hello?" He spoke again, a little more frustrated than curious this time.

I wasn't about to let that witch talk to him again, at lease not when I could stop it.

"Hello?" I replied to make sure he was still there.

"Who is this?" He asked annoyed, but a little more curiously.

My heart dropped. He probably doesn't even remember me or at leader tried to forget me. I still have the same number.

"This is Paige. Paige Avalon. Is- is this Vincent Royce?" I smacked myself for stuttering.

From the other side, I heard the plane announce take off.

"I-I have to go. Bye."

I was shocked for a while, but I said it anyways if he could hear me or not.

"I'm so sorry," I whispered the next few words because my voice failed me, "I love you V."

No sound could be heard. Looking at my phone screen, I saw just what I had expected, the keypad. He didn't even hear me, but I admitted it to myself. I'm still in love with Vincent Royce.

*MAGICAL TIME SKIP- 11 HOURS PASSED*

It's 7 pm already. Grabbing my phone, I started to head out of my office and out of the main room.

By the time I got out of the elevator, I bumped into a hard chest.

"I'm sorry," we said simultaneously.

I looked up to see my boss, who is the founder of Gilliam Corp. and Co., 's son, Collin.

"Oh, hey Paige," he smiled brightly at me.

"Uhh, hi Collin. Weren't you suppose to leave like two hours ago?" I asked annoyed that he's keeping me away from home. I just want to sleep and repeatedly pound my face in my pillow for being such an idiot.

"Yeah I was, but umm I wanted to ask you something," he fidgeted a little, which made me sick with irritation.

Through clenched teeth, I tried to talk to him as nicely as I could, "If you wanted to ask me something you should have asked earlier or while we were on a lunch break instead of wasting both of our times after work. Now if you will excuse me, I was supposed to be somewhere five minutes ago." I'm not normally a crabby and bitchy person, but after realizing I'm still in love with Vincent really set off my moodiness.

After huffing and attempting to walk by him, he grabbed my arm and pulled me to him.

I tried not to glare at him and his antics. Blonde hair and blue eyes, as well as muscles and height, will get him nowhere with women who aren't sluts because we do not like being manhandled.
