3 weeks later

Dani POV

Me and Rodney finally made it official two weeks ago and It's been the best 2 weeks ever .

"Danielle are you listening to me"Rodney asked

"No...My bad I was just thinking about how lucky I am to have you"

He rolled his eyes and laughed

"I'm for real I don't deserve you"

And the truth is I didn't..I haven't exactly told him the whole truth about who I am and why I moved here ..While he on the other hand has been so open to me

"We all deserve someone who loves us and wants to be there for us so don't say that"

I snuggled closer to him and he leaned down and pecked my lips

"I love you" I said

"I love you too" he smiled.

Just then his mom walked in

"Hey ma" he smiled at her

"Hey baby , y'all so cute "

"Hey ms.simmons" I smiled at her

"So are you guys coming to the grand opening today" she asked

Asia had kept her promise to Ms.Simmons about getting her a restaurant of her very own to sell soul food and cakes

"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Rodney said hugging her from the side

"I need y'all to go and help decorate ..Asia is already there ..I don't want no problems y'all are there to work ..Asias been very nice "

"Ight mom I won't start nothing ..but if she say one slick thing Imma..."

She cut him off "walk away that's what you gone do "

He rolled his eyes

"Who you rolling your eyes at boy"

"I'm sorry ma" he kissed her cheek

"It's okay ...now y'all gon ahead over there ...I just came back to grab some more coupons to give away"

I grabbed my purse and Rodney his keys

The restaurant wasn't that far away it was actually walking distance

The restaurant on the inside was nice ... It had an 80's theme and was filled with pictures of African American leaders.. Outside was where the party was at though.. It was set up with picnic tables so that way everytime you came there it would be like a family barbecue..

The music was already blasting and there were about 15 people setting up .

"Hi, are you guys here to help set up?" Asia asked giving us a fake ass smile

"Yeah"Rodney replied bluntly

"Okay you guys can go out the table cloths on the picnic tables "

"Ight" Rodney said

I wrapped my arm around his just to rub it in her face

"You petty as fuck" Rodney laughed once we got outside

"Me?" I replied sounding innocent

"I think this restaurant is going to be lit, what you think?"

"I agree with her soul food and cakes ..I just might eat here everyday"
