Kaya woke up and wobbled out of her room, to the fridge.

"Where the hell were you last night?" Kaya's mom, Stacy, croacked. She was sitting at the wobbly, two-person table that sat in the open area out of the kitchen.

"Just working." Kaya replied as she opened up the fridge to get some breakfast. Nothing looked appetizing.

"Oh. You got some money?" She exhaled a big huff of smoke from the cigarette she held in her left hand because her chipped mug of coffee was placed in the right one.

"I didn't get a bill last night. It will be here soon though." She scooped up the Chinese leftover for some breakfast.

"It better be getting here soon because I need some. You should get a second so you have a little more in hand."

"Mom, we never have any money in hand."

"Well that shows even more that you better be getting a second job."

"How about you get a job?"

"You know why! And don't you ever talk to me about me doing anymore work then I already do around this place! You and your brother both know that!" She went silent, looked over at the empty seat across from her and took a deep, long puff of her cigarette.

"Mom, you know he isn't there right. He never will be anymore."

"But if he was, he would be helping me out more then your spoiled ass ever would! If you wouldnt be such a weight the thoughts he had would have never crossed his mind!" She took her last puff and flung the cigarette at her daughter. It hit her sweats and singed a small circle out. "In fact, why do you think you are able to eat any food out of that fridge if you haven't done jack?!"

"I have to have some before school, Mom." Kaya mumbled.

"Get out of my fucking house if you aren't even going to talk to me like this is my house! OUT!" Stacy shot back her chair and rose up. Then she started coughing. Crumbling to the floor and breaking the table in half on her way down.

"MOM!" Kaya screamed as she ran to her mom's hacking body. Kaya got her to her knees just when Stacy threw up the alcohol and junk food that remained in her body. "It's okay Mom. Get it out." Supporting her.

When it came to an end all her mom could say was, "This is what you do to us all. Drive us so insane that we end up hurting ourselves to the brink of death." Then she passed out.

With tears in her eyes and her mom supported on her shoulder, Kaya dragged her mom to her bedroom. Times like this she was grateful they had a small little house.

Kaya laid her mom onto her queen size bed and pulled the blankets up to her chin. Stacy slightly stirred but remained with her eyes closed. With her sleeve, Kaya wiped off the remaining puke off of her mom's face and exited the room.

Kaya cleaned up the puke, through out the to the dumpster, and changed her sticky clothes. After replying her runny make up, she got her backpack and headed out the door to school. The day just starting and worst part of the day still to come.
