I sighed, waiting for my mom to take me to my new school. My eyes flickered around my room, still not adjusted to the new scene. We had moved here Saturday from Australia, of course Australia to Los Angeles was a big step. Everyone here have weird accents, as for us Australians, we tend to skip over our r's.
I had on a Maroon beanie and my gray sweatshirt. My maroon Vans held my feet and light blue skinny jeans covered my legs.
I heard someone running down the stairs, assuming it was my Mother, coming to bring me to school, I stood up. I dusted off my pants and let out a long release of air.
"Come on let's go!" My mom hollered as she ran across the wooden floor of our house, her keys jingling each time she took a step.
I grabbed my black jansport backpack and followed behind her. I closed my eyes as I shut the door behind me, hoping it was all a dream and when I open my eyes I will be back in Australia, with the rest of my famil- "Hurry up Aiden!" My mother called from the car.
I stumbled over to the car, almost purging because of the amount of butterflies in my tummy. No, they weren't even butterflies, they were like the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz. (A/N I just thought about this. Why is it 'monkeys' and not 'monkies'? ok sorry keep reading)
The car had stopped and I realized I was parked in front of a massive school. My heart raced as I stepped out
of the car. I could almost hear my pulse in my head. I kicked a stone before turning around to see a my mother, she had a look of sadness in her eyes. I bet I did too.I had social anxiety, and that's why my parents never made me do public school. I did online school almost all my life, except for the first year of kindergarten.
I walked in through the school doors and my body started shaking. My lip quivered, wanting to burst into tears. My backpack felt enormous on me, like a boulder.
I looked around at my surroundings and saw a bunch of people huddled in small groups talking with their friends. I few people glanced at, that only made my anxiety worse.
My silent cries for help got louder in my head as I approached my locker. I prayed for nights that this didn't happen. I guess its true, God doesn't get all his prayers.
The so called "popular" kids stood right in front of my lockers. I gulped as I tapped one on the back. He turned around, with a disgusted look on his face. He nudged his friend and he turned around.
A mischievous smirk crept across their faces. I furrowed my eyebrows as they stood there. " 'You new?" I nodded. "And you're disturbing us because...?"
I fumbled around with my fingers trying to find the right words to say.I licked my chapped lips and before I could say anything the guy I had tapped on the back answered. "Cat got your tongue?" I already disliked this. I pointed behind them. "M-my l-ocker." I choked out. My throat was as dry as a desert and everything came out grainy.
They all laughed, and looked each other. I looked up at them. "Oh right." One said. And moved out of the way. I squeezed between the boys to my locker.
I jiggle with the lock, but nothing works. I groan in frustration and look up to see the boys hovering around me. "C-can you help me with my locker?" I stuttered.
A boy (a cute one too) quickly crouched down beside me. "What's your combination?" I handed him the slip with my combo on it. He quickly turned the lock until he popped my locker open. He smiled at me and I managed out a quick "thank you." Before I got my books and left.
I grabbed ahold of my phone and sent a quick Twitter message to my fans, yes I had fans. 4.8 Million actually, but I mean, whose counting?
First day at public school... Already met a cutie...
I hit the post button and the comments came rolling in.
Aw babe! Good luck with your new boyfriend;)Have fun!
I'm so proud of you!!!!!!!!
Tell him to back off! You're mine bb!!!:))
Of course I got bad comments too though..
Omg this is why kids shouldn't be allowed on the Internet
Haha the "cutie" will probably never like her
You haven't gone to school before? FreAk
You're ugly
I ignored them though, they just irrelevant people on my page.
I walked into my first class, which was English. The cute boy who opened my locker was sitting right smack in the front.
I dropped a piece of paper by accident and I bent down to pick it up. I glanced up to see the boy suddenly everything was on the floor. The teacher eyed me the whole time the event was happening.
As I stood up the teacher began to speak to me "Number rule in this class is you have to stay focused Aiden, no sneaking perks of cute boys." He grinned. My face drained of color and the boy started cracking up.
"How about you go sit down, put your books on your desk and come back up to the front of the class." The teacher- who's name was apparently Mr. Williams- ordered me to do.
I did as I was told and hurried back to the front. "So where did you come from?" He asked. Some people are so stupid. I have an Australian accent for gods sake!
"Australia." I answered quickly.
"And what's your name?..."
"Aiden."
"Alright, you are obviously not comfortable with this, go sit down." He said in a frustrated way. I rushed to my seat.
Note to self- Trying not to be noticed when everyone's eyes are on you is hard,
