"HEY GIRLS! RISE AND SHINE!" Jared boomed in his big voice outside our door. We woke up and began screaming in unison. The guys yelled in terror at our horrible choir.
"Good lord, I just lost most of my hearing!" Adam groaned. Amber laughed evilly into her pillow.
"First day of training!" Griffin cheered as if that made getting up anymore enticing. I burrowed deeper into my bed. It was fluffy and warm, why would I ever leave it?
"Training can go die," I snorted and Maddy, facedown on her pillow snapped and gave me a thumbs up without looking up.
Adhya, being the most adult, rolled out of bed and waddled over to her wardrobe with a blanket wrapped around her.
"I have a cape," she joked. She wrapped it tighter around her body, essentially making an Adhya burrito. Growling, I followed her lead burritoed up. Sluggishly, I waddled out of bed and heaved open my closet. Instead of overflowing with clothing like it had last night, only one set of clothing was neatly hung up.
"To early to deal with it," I mumbled. I grabbed the gear and narrowly beat Adhya in reaching the bathroom.
"I am the burrito master!" I exclaimed in victory. Grumbling Adhya stepped aside.
Inside the bathroom I pulled on all my gear. A midnight blue shirt with sleeves that reached just above my elbows, coffee colored leathery pants and black knee high boots. I then pulled on a pair of brown leather fingerless gloves. I grabbed what were essentially leather archery arm guards and adjusted them with minor struggle. The final piece mocked me from its place on the floor.
I picked it up and examined it, then began to rage. I plowed through the bathroom door roaring, "A CORSET? REALLY!"
Adhya wisely dove out of my path while my outrage fully woke Maddy and Amber. Still in her blanket burrito, Adhya rolled away from the ranting beast that was me. Angrily, I tossed the offending article away. It narrowly missed Maddy's head, however she didn't even respond.
"It's not a corset, it's adjustable body armor!" Keanu corrected. I glared at Maddy as if she was to blame for her partner's information.
"Your required to wear them. Your not the first to complain," Jared said consolingly. Pouting, I allowed Adhya to lace me up. I only cursed when she gave the leather strings a sharp tug. About every twenty seconds.
"Ok, that one was on purpose!" I snapped. Adhya whacked my shoulder, "I'm sorry do you want to lace up yourself?"
I clenched my teeth and let out a stream of loud curses. From the bathroom, Amber mock gasped, "I'm so proud."
"Good God, Griffin your partner can cuss!" Adam said in shock, causing me to laugh.
"I'm don't cuss," Maddy interjected loudly and with confusion.
"That's my girl!" Keanu bragged.
"Hypocrisy at its finest," Adhya commented.
"That grammar though," I added slyly. Suddenly the air was squeezed out of my lungs by the corset. When it returned, so did the curses.
"I'M NOT YOUR ANYTHING!" Maddy bellowed in outrage, then proceeded to come up with some creative names for Keanu.
I barely heard a squeak of, "Sorry!"
"Ok you're done," Adhya said as she tied the leather strings.
"I can't breathe. Let alone move. Let alone fight! What are they thinking?" I complained. Adhya shrugged and pulled a face.
