I wake up in the morning feeling a lot more refreshed after I actually got some sleep. I showered quickly and left the room not wanting to keep the others waiting. Persephone and Lilly were sitting at the table while Emmy was applying her makeup. Max were her with another lady that looked similar to him. Maybe siblings.
" Hi Finnick, so today you train "
I nod my head at Seph who launches in to tips and strategies how that I'm here.
" So being a district that sometimes has careers you can chose the path you want but whatever you chose don't show off everything. Keep something a secret to give you an advantage in the arena and something fresh to show the peacekeepers "
I nod at her showing that I'm listening while I butter a piece of toast.
" Option 1 is to be a career. You show off plenty, just do the things your really good at and work mostly with the weapons. Careers will approach you if you're good and everyone is scared of you. Option two is to be an intimidating tribute, but not a career. Make everyone think you have the strength and ability of a career but you aren't with them. Maybe a little more trustworthy so it's easier to get to them. And if you make an alliance end it during the top 7, that's the best way. Last option is to pretend to be weak so that people don't come after you. Before anyone realises you're the one they need to go after it'll be the top 5 and you'll be hunting them down, and if you actually are weak then hide and rely on the sponsors. You'll have plenty. The Capitol love me, and they already like you "
She finishes with a smug smirk at the end. I shake my head chuckling at her arrogance before moving towards the lift. It goes down and the doors open. Most of the people are there already, the careers have already claimed their stations.
I watch them warily, seeing them throw their weapons. Most are very intimidating but I stop when I get to the district 2 girl. She'll catch Persephone's attention for sure.
She was a young girl, maybe my age or a year older. Probably Seph's age. She was throwing knives with such precision that she never missed. All you heard was the thud of the knife hitting the board but her movements were slow. The knife could be dodged so if she tried to kill that way she would have to aim from behind. That's not what caught my attention though.
She walked slyly up to the girl working on the ripe tying. She while red something in her ear before tying a noose and pretending to hand someone. Then she smiled devilishly at the rope like maybe it wasn't such a bad idea.
I watch as her eyes travel to a glass panel. Behind it I see all the victors, Persephone was talking to some young guy. Both of them staring at the district 2 girl. The girl smirks and winks at the, before taking the rope with her.
