Kirstie obviously couldn't sleep that night. She couldn't stop thinking about Avi. At first she couldn't stop thinking about Jeremy, now it's Avi. She didn't know wether to feel mad or satisfied. She's happy with Jeremy. Everyone knows that. She was relieved no one knew about what happened (except Scott). Kirstie couldn't take it anymore. As if on cue she got a text. It was from Avi.
"You up?"
"Yeah... can't sleep."
"Me neither."
"So why'd you text me?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Are you mad at me now?"
"No, absolutely not. What we did took two people. It's not just your fault, it's mine too."
"Ok... I still feel bad though."
"Hmmm, I think I can fix that."
Avi read the text and heard a rustling sound beneath him. Kirstie's bunk was under his. He saw his curtain being pulled to the side and Kirstie's face looking up at him.
"Hey bass man."
"What are you doing? You might wake everyone else up."
"No I won't, just be quiet."
She started to climb up into Avi's bunk and pulled the curtain closed behind her.
"Hi." She giggled.
"Why are you up here?"
"So I can do this."
Slowly, Kirstie leaned in and met her lips with his. Avi didn't hesitate to kiss her back. She climbed on top of him but there was hardly any space, so she basically laid on top of his chest not breaking the kiss. He put his hands around her back as she held his face. But he soon pulled away.
"Kirst, you have a boyfriend."
"So." She continued what she was doing but kissed his neck instead.
"He's not around is he?"
"No."
"Well then, we've got nothing to worry about."
Avi was a little hesitant about the whole thing, he did think about his feelings towards her and got a little excited. Maybe this was his chance to show her how he felt. Yeah. He would let her continue with this little facade and see how it ends up. Eventually he'll confess his actual feelings for her and maybe she'll actually pick him.
"I guess you're right."
"Mm, of course I'm right."
They connected lips again and stayed like that for a long time. Soon they both needed to breath and pulled apart.
"Are we keeping this a secret between us?"
"Duh. I'll see you in the morning. I think I heard Scott groan earlier, he might wake up."
"Ok, see ya."
"Good night."
What the hell was that Kirstin, you have Jeremy. He treats you right. But Avi is right there, and I actually kind of like him. Wait, no. I can't like him. But he makes you happy. So does Jeremy. Ugh, this is hard.
Her thoughts were interrupted by another text.
"I miss you already ;)."
"Get some sleep you weirdo. :*"
"Ohhh kissy face huh? :*"
"Yes, now good night."
"Fine, good night."
Both fell right asleep after that and slept through the night.
.
The next morning Kirstie and Avi were the first two up. They didn't say anything to each other but stole glances. Kirstie went into the bathroom and Avi made some coffee. Kirstie came out and was greeted with Avi standing right in front of the door.
"GEEZ, Avi you scared me!"
"Good morning to you too."
"Is the coffee done?"
"Yes, I poured some for you already."
"That was sweet thank you."
When Kirstie tried to walk past Avi he stopped her. He put an arm in front of her and stepped in her way.
"What are you do-"
Avi bent down and kissed her right on the lips. It was sweet and short, but enough for her to blush. They pulled away and stared at each other smiling. Just then they heard someone else waking up. Scott stumbled his was out of the bunk and the couple pretended as if they were just passing by.
"Morning Scott."
"Mm."
Scott just groaned and stood up. He went over to Kirstie and sat down at the table right across from her. Avi got in the shower.
"So... did you sleep ok?"
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"No reason, I just woke up from hearing someone get out of their bunk. Was that you?"
"Uh yeah, I had to use the bathroom."
"But I didn't hear the toilet flush."
"Maybe you fell back asleep."
"I was up for a long time."
"Maybe you were dreaming."
"Nope, I was fully awake."
"Well then I don't know Scott."
"You didn't really use the bathroom did you?"
"Why don't you believe me?"
Scott looked away from her and thought for a second. He wasn't sure if he should tell the truth. But decided he shouldn't hide what he knew anymore.
"I saw you yesterday."
"You see me everyday Scott."
"No...like... I saw you... with Avi."
Kirstie's eyes went wide. She was sure no one has seen them.
"Uhh.. Um, what do you mean?"
"Don't play dumb Kirst, I know what I saw."
"And what was that exactly?"
"You basically having sex with Avi. You were all over each other, making out like there's nothing else in the world."
"If you tell anyone, I'll kill you. And we weren't having sex."
"It was pretty close."
"Well it won't happen again."
Avi stepped out of the bathroom and Kirstie basically ran to the back lounge.
"What's up with her?"
Avi said pointing behind him.
"I don't know, she's being really weird."
Avi couldn't help but feel guilty. He was probably the reason she was acting like this. He followed her to the lounge and sat down.
"What?"
"Woah, what did I do?"
"Huh, nothing... do you need something?"
"You're making it a little obvious that there's something going on."
"Scott knows."
"WHAT! How did he find out?"
"He saw us Avi, we weren't careful enough."
"Oh, we need to be more aware. How about we only interact like...that.. when we know for sure we will be completely alone."
"That could work, but how will we ever know for sure?"
"We're going to a hotel tonight right?"
"Yeah."
"There we go. I can just sneak into your room. And we'll have a whole week to do that."
"Alright, just be careful when you come over."
"So are we in agreement?"
"Yes, agreed."
They stood up giggling and hugged.
What are you doing Kirstie?
