Lilli's POV

I quicky ran down the metal stairs my boots making clanking sound;
I fixed my hair once and jumped down.

"Slow down squirrel" daryl yelled when i shoved him a little,
"Can't. late for duty" i laughed,
"oh with carl, I see" he winked, i stopped,

"Shut up double D" just as i said that he put on his poker face and walked down.

I ran outside to see Carl by the fences a annoying look on his face.

"Sorry sorry sorry" i shouted repeatively as i finally made to him,
"Lol its okay come on" he chuckled and both of us climbed up to the guard tower.

"First Lilli, why are you late?"
"Over slept" I giggled,
He rolled his eyes playfully.

Me and Carl on duty never do anything just dangle our legs at the edge of the towers balcony and talk about life.
Today was different.
It seemed like a good day.

Me and Carl sat and looked at the sky for a bit.
Even though it was 1:00 pm, the sky had a dark shade probably because it was going to rain or just a windy day.

"It's gonna rain" Carl said looking upto the sky,
He looked so perfect.
Well he was.
I had a crush on Carl for a long time but I never told him and I never could.

"What makes you so sure?" I looked up,
"The sky is dull and purple it's gonna rain my mom told me this, whenever it rains"

His mom.
Lori.
Carl still misses her.
She was sweet and caring but she died.
Carl was broken and Rick told I could bring him back and I did.
Everyone was happy.

The sky slowly turned darker and purple, I loved it.
I always loved when it rained.
The sky would be the best colour and no scorching heat.

"See" Carl pointed
I laughed.

"Hey, I had to give you this" Carl took out a small black box,
"What's this?" I smiled,
He looked at me and his smile got wider.

"I think it's the perfect moment to give you this" he handed me the box.

My mind full of suspense of what could it be.
I opened it to find a locket.

"It opens" he showed me and there was a picture of me and Carl when we were kids.

"Oh my god where did you find the picture?" I asked shocked,

"My mom had it she gave me before dying, I kept it for you, I found the necklace on the run" he smiled.

I gave him a huge hug and he returned it.

I pulled back and our eyes met.
My heart stopped.
He leaned in.
This is happening?
My dream moment.
I leaned in.
Our lips attached.

And just at that moment it rained, me and Carl were soaked but we still kissed, it was so perfect.

When the rain got fast I pulled back and squealed.
We both went inside the guard tower.

"That was-" he finished my sentence,
"Perfect"
I smiled.
"So?"
"You don't get i,t I love you Lilli" Carl said,
"And I love you Carl" I laughed and we kissed again.

"Here give me" he grabbed the necklace and put it on me.

"This is so if we ever go apart Lilli
You'll remember me forever and always" he said grabbing my hand,
"Forever and always"

We hugged tight and he promised to never let me go.

I had a feeling this day was going to be good.
