Chapter 1: A New Beginning
~Amelia's POV~
201, 202, 203... It's my first day of high school and I'm looking for my locker with my best friend Maggie when I accidentally bump into someone. Crap. Crap. Crap. First day of high school and I've already managed to embarrass myself!
I kneel down to pick up my books, when I bonk heads with someone. I look up to see who it is, and standing in front of me is the most attractive guy I have ever seen!
He stood about 5'8 with medium length brown hair and bright blue eyes. Gor-geous. But he has a friend... a very cute friend, just about as cute as him. Beside me I hear my friend whisper to me,
"Dibs on the red head!" I giggle a bit; she's always had a weird taste in guys.
I completely forgot about my books until I hear someone clear their throat.
"Ahem!" Maggie and I both turn to the voice, it's mystery boy. He hands me my books as he introduces himself,
"Hey, I'm Nick, this is Cayden, and you two lovely ladies are?" He says as he sends me a flirty wink. While I notice Cayden glaring softly at Maggie.
"Well, I'm Amelia and this is my friend-" I say before she cuts me off.
"Maggie, My name is Maggie." I send her an evil glare. "I was gonna say that you numb-skull." She looks at me with the same glare. Just then Cayden speaks up; I almost forgot he was there!
"Well I think it was cuter coming from her..." She blushes like a madman; of. Freaking. Course.
"WELL, WHY DON'T YOU TWO JUST GET MARRIED ALREADY?!" I say jokingly. Maggie shoots me a glare with 'I will kill you' written ALL over it. While Cayden looks at the ground, most likely to hide the insane blush on his cheeks, while Nick just laughs about it. Suddenly Nick speaks up again, man that boy can talk.
"Well, we're on our way to Mr. Muscleman's homeroom. Who's your homeroom teacher?" I look at my timetable and giggle,
"Looks like you're stuck with us!" Maggie and I laugh, while the boys look at each other with HUGE smiles on their GORGEOUS faces. Nick looks at me with a creepy stare and says with an even creepier accent,
"Well, this way ladies." Maggie and I stare at each other, but not for long as I feel a hand around mine, pulling me forward. I turn to Maggie and see Cayden doing the same thing to her. Just then Cayden speaks up again,
"We warned you, we decided not to warn you again." He says as his smile grows and we all burst into laughter. Drawing in some odd stares, which obviously, only caused us to laugh harder. They pull us into class just as Maggie's ringtone blares from the back of her shorts, which contains her iPhone.
"WHEN I WALK IN THE SPOT, YEAH, THIS IS WHAT I SEE, EVERYBODY STOPS AND STARING AT ME-" She quickly clicks ignore, just as we all burst into laughter again. Well, that was an interesting entrance to our first day of high school.
"My mom honestly JUST called me, at the beginning of homeroom. ONLY MY MOM, ONLY HER!" Maggie exclaims after checking her cell, which Cayden isn't hesitant to take.
"HEY WHAT ARE YOU-" Maggie's screams are cut off by Cayden,
"SILENCE PEASANT!" Maggie stares at me for a second before turning to Cayden and doing that creepy thing she does.
"AWWWW HELLLLLZZZ NAWWWWWW!" she says sassily after snatching her phone back, seeing a new contact. Which just so happens to be Cayden. Just as I'm about to walk up to Maggie, I reach into my back pocket, to find my iPhone gone.
"OKAY, WHO TOOK MY-" Just as I'm about to go ballistic, Nick hands me my phone with yet ANOTHER flirty wink. Dat boy is a FLIRRRRRRRRT! Just then the bell rings, telling us it's time for class.
Nick, Maggie, Cayden and I sit in the same group. About 5 minutes later Mr. Muscleman walks in and almost in sync the ENTIRE class yells,
"GET A LATE SLIP!" and just as fast as he walked inside class he turns and walks out. Coming back 3 minutes later, ACTUALLY CARRYING A LATE SLIP. He hands it to me and says,
"Here you go miss, sorry, it won't happen again, I promise." Just as he finishes that sentence the entire room erupts with laughter. About halfway through Mr. Muscleman's like, 50 year speech on high school, Maggie and I look at each other, obviously thinking the same thing. I hold up my fingers, counting to three, 1, 2, 3.
"WE FORGOT TO GO TO OUR LOCKERS!" we burst out as the entire class laughs once more.
"WELL HURRY UP OR WHEN YOU GET BACK I'M TALKING ABOUT BIRTH!" The entire class looks at us and screams,
"RUN FOR IT, BOOOOK ITTTTT!" As we exit the class I go back to the door, staring at Mr. M,
"You cruel, cruel, man." And I run as fast as I can to catch up with Maggie, who somehow, is already at our lockers.
As I reach our lockers Maggie looks at me with a goofy grin and says,
"Sup slowpoke what took you so long? Too busy gawking over Nick?" I stare at her with a look I hadn't ever given her before.
"No I was not! Okay... Maybe... Okay fine." Just then Maggie bursts out into laughter, staring at whatever was behind me.
"What are you looking at?" I turn to see Nick and Cayden behind us. Cayden was almost laughing as hysterically as Maggie, and Nick was blushing.
"You were 'gawking' over me?" he says and my eyes go wide.
"I, um, uh, um, MAGGIE HAS A CRUSH ON CAYDEN!" Maggie stares at me and then back at the boys before screaming,
"WELL AMELIA LIKES NICK!" I give her another dirty look before I speak, mostly just for Maggie to hear me.
"Well played my friend, well played." Looks like I was a little too loud. Cause I got some weird looks from the boys...
"Wait a second, why the are you two here?!" Maggie asks them. Well, actually basically only asking Cayden. She totally likes him!
"We, uh, um... we were... uh sent to look for you?" Nick seems to stutter a lot as he says this. I start to get suspicious.
"What's up with Mr. Stutter over here?" Maggie says pointing to Nick. Cayden looks up from, staring at his feet, I guess?
"He likeeeeees youuuuu." Cayden says, stretching out the words as he spoke. Nick goes full on blush.
"I, um, uhm, WELL YOU LIKE MAGGIE SO SHUT IT!" Nick blurts out. Cayden goes wide eyed and stares at Maggie, she stares back.
"Well, we all like each other? What?" Maggie says awkwardly. Nick and Cayden exchange a look and charge at us, throwing us over their shoulders. Maggie over Cayden's and me over Nick's. Maggie and I both scream as the boys bolt back to class. We're greeted by Mr. Muscleman, looking somewhat angry, but still, surprisingly, laughing his butt off at our childish behaviour.
"LOOKS LIKE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT BIRTH, CLASS!" he says and the entire class boo's. Mr. M looks back in the class and says firmly.
"Aw, grow up you wimps. You're gonna face it one day or another." the guys look shocked and the girls just burst into laughter. Sadly, after what seemed like only minutes, first period was over.
