                                                                  ~Prologue~

"Shut your face, and stop dressing like you're a walking whore house!" They teased, they bullied and they wouldn't stop. All I could do, all I could ever do was run. Run from my fears, run away from the threats to get to the comforting arms of my best friend. I felt like Tammy was always burdened by me, i'm always the one that holds her back. She got nominated into the National Honor Society but she refused to join because she felt that she needed to be by me.

My name is Kim, Kim Ha Jeon. As a child my parents vanished, not magically disappear but were just wiped off the face of the Earth. Thus, i've lived on my own, a 16 year old teenager attending high school in the morning and working at a gas station in the evening just to barely get by on my own. Sometimes I don't even know where I belong in this world and I feel as if Tammy is tired of looking after me.

The school bell rang and was the sound of a thousand angels to the students. However I stayed in my seat and continued to work to get my grades up. Suddenly, as soon as I look up Tammy is at my classroom already and quickly rushed to me. "Do you need a ride home today? I mean you're off work today so might aswell come with me and get some frozen yogurt!" I sighed, "I can't, I got to stay after school and do some makeup test, but we can hangout some other time?" Tammy replied without hesitation,"Yeah, sure, let me just make room in my agenda and we can go! Alright we'll got to go, TTYL!"

Exiting the school felt like an amazing feeling. The cool wind brushed aganist my cheeks and the sun just began to set. I wouldn't have much time to get home before night on my usual route so I made the brave decision to walk through the creek. It's was supprisingly relaxing, the crunching of the fallen leaves under my shoes, and the final minutes of the sunshine on my face. I enjoyed every minute of the walk, suddenly something hit my waist. A force that knocked me out completely.
