"Oh man, oh man." Said Jacob. "Man, why does this night have to exist?!"

This night, is The Purge. The night when all crime is legal for 12 hours, even murder. You can't trust anybody on this day. People who have secretly hated you can't get rid of you without any consequence. Can't leave the house, can't let anybody into your house. Always have to have your guard up. Doors locked, and gun in hand.

"Jacob, just calm down" Craig said trying to be calm.

Every year, the boys had a plan. From the time it started, to the time it ended, everybody was ordered to not leave the house. If Walter, Kenneth, and Keisha knocked on the door, they weren't aloud to answer it. If on of their friends knocked on the door, they weren't aloud to answer it. They wouldn't know if they were being set up or not. They weren't taking any chances.

Craig went down the list on things they need

"Gun?"

"Check" said Chres.

"Food?"

"Check." Said Ray

"Toilet paper?"

"Uhh...uhh.." Jacob thought. He didn't get the toilet paper like he was supposed to.

"Damnit, Jacob!" Craig said loudly. He looked at the clock. 11:50. 10 minutes till it starts.

"You better hustle your ass to the store and get some toilet paper." Craig said to him with an annoyed look.

Jacob looked worried. The store was 5 minutes away, but he would have to look for the toilet paper. Which means his ass would really have to hustle.

"Chres, go with me?" He asked

"Hell naw man" Chres said looking away.

"Come on man, please?" He was hoping his scared look would pursue Chres. It did.

"Damn, fine. Hurry up so we can get back." Jacob and Chres hopped into the car and drove to Walmart.

"Ok. We have 1 minute to find the toilet paper if we wanna get back to the house in 4 minutes." Chres said. "You better pray we find it in time."

Jacob nodded and started sprinting towards the back of the store. So did Chres. They ran through aisles and searched rapidly. Once they found the toilet paper section, they picked up two packs each. They ran to the front of the store and ran out. They didn't care about the alarm going off. All crime was about to be legal anyway.

Chres sped through the streets. The ran stop signs and stop light. They reached the house and started banging on the door and waited for either Ray or Craig to open the door. Nobody came. Jacob looked at his phone. The time, 12:01 p.m.

"No. No. No. No. Craig! Come on man! Open the door!" Chres pounded on the door. He was panicked. He knew the rule: No opening the door from start to end.

"Craig please" Jacob pleaded.

"Come on Craig. You know it's them. Just open the door." Ray said.

Craig looked at him and thought. Risk opening the door and it being a trap, or not opening the door and have his two best friends possibly killed.

"Craig, please!" Chres pleaded again. The door finally opened. He sighed heavily and they ran inside. Craig quickly put all the locks on the door.

"Y'all lucky yall my niggas, or that door would not have been opened." Craig said. Chres slightly pushed Jacob

"Your ass is real lucky" Chres said walking past Jacob.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Jacob said, rubbing the back of his neck.

The countdown now begins.
