Sometimes we need a little magic

Chapter 3

"Why are my powers only limited, and why can I only do like three spells?" I ask.

My dad responds with, "That's the part your mother left out. You aren't a full wizard yet so you don't have all your powers. Neither does Lexy."

"What do you mean I'm not a full wizard Yet?" I asked.

"To gain your full powers, you must go on a very dangerous quest," My dad says.

"Think of it more as an adventure," says Lexy's dad. He's always been the funny one.

"Dangerous quest?" I ask, " What do I have to do on this quest?"

"You need to go to the portal into the immortal world and there will be a wand waiting for each of you there. But you must find it, its hidden. once you get your wand, you will have full powers. My dad said to me and Lexy.

That was a lot of information to take in.

"Where is the portal?" Lexy asked.

"Our basement?" I guessed

"It's a little farther than that, it's in Los Angeles." Says my mom.

"LOS ANGELES?!" Lexy and I say in sync.

"Mom, you know we live in Wisconsin right?" I say.

"Haha yes dear I know, we will all fly down their and take you two the portal. We're leaving in two days, we'll start training tomorrow."

Later that night me and Lexy went for a walk.

"You nervous about the whole wand quest thing?" I asked

"Nervous? More like terrified.. Some people don't even make it out alive." Lexy said.

"Yeah, I'm going crazy too. I still can't believe this whole thing, it seems just so un-logical. How did our parents keep it a secret for so long from us? How did we never know? I wonder if they ever even use their powers around us..."

"I know," Lexy said. " The thing that helps me know we're gonna be okay is that I'm with you."

Wow. Did that mean what I thought it meant. Does she feel safe around me? Does she want me ;) I also might've left something out before... I might've always loved her a little...
