Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. The clock ticked with second passing by. A young human, Elizabeth — or Beth as she liked to be called, was doing another one of her... Interesting researches. Interesting meaning they weren't just any ordinary research projects, but research projects specifically about supernaturals; her kind's greatest enemies. Funny thing is, most girls her age were interested in the latest fashion trend and going shopping every now and then, but Beth? Beth was intrigued by nothing of that sort. On the contrary, she was far more intrigued by the supernaturals and the secret world they were rumored to have built around themselves. She wanted to learn about the way they lived (if they were even alive, that is), and she had her heart set out on finding anyone who could help her with that.
"All these websites are useless," she mumbled under her breath and ran a hand through her short red hair. Where else can I search for information? Books about the supernatural are banned, she thought. Searching for them is impossible. She shut her laptop, and threw herself backwards to lay back on her bed. I'll just try again tomorrow.
You know, you always get the same darned result, that annoying voice in the back of her head had to ruin it. Though, it was true, that no matter how hard she tried and searched the result was always the same. Nothing. Google had the same sites every day, and almost all of them were written by teenagers who didn't quite care about what was hapenning at the time and just created some crap that surely wasn't the real deal. That truly pissed Beth off, but what could she do? She didn't know anything either, yet for some reason, she wanted her knowledge about such creatures to grow. Maybe it was because of the fact that they were not part of her world, and whenever someone found a creature of those rare species, they had to either shoot them dead or turn them into the police. The latter then do whatever pleases them, which would most probably be torturing the creatures.
Elizabeth let out a shaky breath when she was hit by the cold December breeze as she walked out of her apartment. There was not much to do in her town. You would think that it was abandoned or stranded, but its inhabitants were just too scared to go out on the streets and face reality. Instead, the streets were filled with alarmed guards on patrols. Beth went out, though, without a care in the world as to where her feet lead her to. She would find her way back to her apartment like she always had. Though, she didn't know that this particular time, her feet would lead her to a road that will change her life, and that she might not get to go back at all.
As she was turning the corner, she bumped into someone...

"Keep it quiet, you idiot," Alexander snapped at Kaeden, afraid that they would get caught. He made sure that the guard passed by completely until he got up from his crouching position. "Let's go, Kae," He said, grabbing his friend by the collar and running across the street. "We should have stayed at the cave. I like the cave. The cave was safe!" Kaeden argued, his weak body getting dragged by the taller and more built specimen.
"No," Alexander growled. "My father is there and i will not go see him again. If you want you can go, i can manage on my own." When Alexander finished, Kaeden was more than terrified. Alexander rarely spoke this way, and it brought out the scary part of him. Alexander was always that awkward, down to earth kind of person.
Kaeden yelped, and shook his head furiously. "I can't go back on my own, and you know that better than anybody Alex!"
Alexander - or, as people call him, Alex - was the son of Raspiotin, the leader of vampires. Though, Alex didnt want to live the life of being locked in his room, constantly being told to live fearing humans. He was sick of living like that, being told what to do, but most of all, he was sick of being a vampire. A vampire that was judged and feared by everyone. Guess you could say that this sick, twisted world lived off fear.
Alex was always accompanied by his child of friend Kaeden Lee who is nothing like him. He's a total chicken. A little, sassy, fearful, but loyal chicken. He sees a human and whoosh, he disappears. Probably went to South Africa or something, who knows. Anywhere away from said human.
"Good. Now, are you sure that we have everything we need?" Alex didnt want any unfortunate events or missing tools to ruin his escape. Kaeden nodded his head, sure of his answer as he had double-checked everything before they left.
"Do you know exactly where we're going?" Kaeden asked in concern, and looked around cautiously. "Away," was Alex's only reply. Away from all the hate was what he meant, but it is extremly hard to find a place where his kind of people is accepted. Once an idea was planted in someone's mind, it can't help but grow until they started living based on that idea. The idea that was planted in people's minds by the government was that every supernatural is dangerous and must be killed onsight.
"Shit," Alex mumbled under his breath as he saw one of the guards heading their way. If this escape plan failed, there would be no need to face his father. Instead, he would have to face his death, joined by Kaeden's. "What are we going to do?" Kaeden asked, panicking. A shortcut, Alex thought, and he ran to the opposite side of the street. "Where are we going?" Kaeden asked for the nth time this day. Alex turned his head back to his friend to answer him, "I know a way."
And as he turned his head to look in front of him, he bumped into someone.
