Fear Me

!! CHAPTER ONE !!

Thump. The two bodies fell to the floor. "Watch it," they both said as they became aware of what had happened. "Alex! [1] Ah, jinjja, nae un! Eomma," Kaeden spoke in his mother language, a scared tone to his voice and a small groan at the end. "What's wrong, Kae?" Alex absentmindedly asked as he rubbed his forehead. Alex opened his eyes to be welcomed by a girl laying on the ground, trying to get up. His brain quickly became alarmed and he felt adrenaline running through his veins as he quickly jumped into an upright position. He attempted to run off, but before he could so much as raise his foot off the ground, someone grabbed his ankle which made him fall to the floor, face-flat. My life's over. I'm dead, I know it, his morbid thoughts overtook his head.

"Where do you think you're going?" Beth spoke sassily. "Apologize."

"Why should I apologize?" Alex growned, still on the floor. The girl snickered and replied,"Um, you bumped into me and made me fall."

"No, I'm pretty sure that you bumped into him and made him fall," Kaeden interrupted from his place beside Alex. "Wanna say that again, kid?" Beth snapped at him, making him jump back and yelp in fear. Alex shook his head at his friend, who was certainly a big baby when it came to humans.

"We're going to go now," Alex grabbed Kae by his arm and made a move to drag him away. "Wait, hold up. What about my apology?" Beth asked curiously, following their movements. Alex grunted "Fine. I'm fucking sorry. That a good apology?" He snapped at her. Something changed in his eyes after he said that sentence, and Beth wanted to find out the reason behind that change.

She acted as if she was unaffected and spoke, "My name is Elizabeth Knight, but I go by Beth. Yours?" She had no clue why she gave him her full name, usually, she would introduce herself as Beth so they wouldn't know her true identity. Though, something made her say her full name.

"Alexander Parker, and I go by Alex," he said, nodding at her once. Why? He asked himself. Why did I answer back? Why didn't I just ignore her and leave?

"I'm Kaeden Lee," the sort of small figure squeaked, shrinking back when Beth turned to glare at him for interrupting her thoughts. She rolled her eyes, and turned back to Alex. "What are you guys doing here at this time, anyways?"

"Shouldn't we be asking you that?" Alex, who was still not over his state of anger, catechized the shorter being, and glared down at the latter. "Well I guess I beat you to it, huh?" Beth asked, a bit of amusement to her voice.

"We are actually running away from一" Kaeden couldn't finish his sentence as he got elbowed in the stomach by no other than his comrade before he could blurt out their plan. "Ow! What the hell, dude!?"

"Running away from...?" A very curious Beth questioned, and looked from Alex to Kaeden continuously. Alex gave her a blank look before bluntly replying, "None of your business."

"Are you on your period or something? 'Cause those are some weird mood swings, dude," She stated. She couldn't take it anymore, her sass took over.

"It's actually pretty normal for a vampire to一" Kaeden got another elbow in his stomach, but it was harder this time. "[2] Dangsin-eun byeong sin!" "Did you say vampire?" Excitement filled Beth's soul as she asked that question. She didn't believe her ears, the reason why she asked. Could it really be?

"No," Alex grunted, already thinking of several ways to kill Kaeden slowly and painfully. Beth shook her head furiously. "I'm pretty sure that I heard the word vampire," She spoke, her heart beginning to pump quicker with the second.

"Well you better clean your ears before you go out," he snapped at her and began to drag Kaeden away. Before they could reach a place out of her earshot - where Alex would murder Kaeden - she started to speak while examining her nails, "I guess you better start running before I tell one of the guards that you two are here. Oh, I think there's one just over there." She pointed at across the street where a guard was in a slumber on a very uncomfortable-looking chair. "Would you look at that; yes, there is." At this point, Alex was so in shock that he stopped in his place, Kaeden's collar in his clenched fist.

Alexander turned to look where she was pointing, just to check if she was bluffing, but to his luck, there the guard was, real and everything. "What do you want from us?" He whispered, venom in his voice. "Oh, I'm sorry, didn't quite catch that," The highly amused and all-of-a-sudden powerful female said. She was really taking advantage of the situation, and she was enjoying it like heck.

"I said," Alex began, his voice raised but calm, showing he was truly provoked and pissed off, "What do you want from us!?"

"Well," she said, unnecessarily elongating the word, and walked towards them, "I want to know all about your secret little world."

"Excuse you?" Kaeden asked, raising a brow. "Well you know," her smile wouldn't leave her face as she spoke, "What's a vampire's life like? Are the stories true? Are the myths real? All those questions... I need their answers."

"How are supposed to help you with that?" Kaeden still didn't get the idea 一 he was rather slow at processing things.

"You're going to help me by showing me your way of living," she explained slowly and carefully to make sure that the Korean understood. "Not going to happen," Alex deadpanned, narrowing his eyes at her. "Well i guess you can enjoy the time you have left. Newsflash, kiddo, they say the torture is unbearable," she said smugly. "Oh guard一"

Alex suddenly grabbed her arm and twisted her around to face him so quickly that she almost got whiplash. "You wouldn't," his breath fanned her cheek as his minty, blood-tinted breath tickled her nose. "Try me," she challenged and stared into his brown eyes that now had specs of red in them. Alex shot daggers at Kaeden through the corner of his eye, and before he could think twice and stop the words coming out of his mouth, he said, "We'll do it."
