"We need to talk Nick." I say rushed into the phone as soon as he picks up, not giving him the chance to say 'hello'.

"Sure babe, what happened?" He asks, his voice laced with concern, making me sigh as his deep baritone voice fills my ears. I voice that I could never resist, until now.

"Not here, in the park." My tone comes out clipped. I try to sound as curt as possible and I abruptly cut the phone before settling down on the swing and watching the clouds drift in the sky.

Very soon I might not even be able to admire it again. This place.

Nick .

I take a deep breath as I feel my chest constrict, it's now or never. I put my feet down and crunch the gravel before I lift off, swinging high in the sky, without a care in the world.

I feel free, free from all the worries.

Very soon I hear the sound of footsteps and look up. "Rach?" He sounds confused as I look up to meet his baby blue eyes, those very eyes that I fell in love with the moment we first met.

I wasn't the kind of girl who believed in love at first sight, but that was until I met him.

"Welcome to the school's tennis club, I'm the vice-captain, Nick." He cheerfully greets us and walks around to shake our hands to welcome us, the freshmen players.

As he offers me his outstretched hands and I stare at it dumbly, awestruck by his tanned, muscular physique before realizing him still standing next to me, waiting for me to take it.

I shyly look into his eyes before holding out my hand.

"I'm Rachel."

"That's a beautiful name." He smiles as he shakes my hand gently, and that's when I fell in love.

"I-I am in love with you!" I confess after six months, finally mustering up the courage to tell him how I really feel. He stands still for a moment and looks at me with shock .

We were practicing alone on the courts for the past few weeks since I had a competition coming up. He offered stay back and give me a few pointers, being the nice person he was.

Embarrassed as I was , I instantly regretted my newly found act of bravery. "I'm sorry, forget what I just said ." I lamely say before turning and running away like a coward.

Suddenly I feel a tug on my wrist and find myself crashing into his hard chest. "You didn't even listen to my answer." He huskily answers as I listen to the his heart hammer loudly, it's pace matching mine.

I slowly look up at his face only to find it the same color as mine.
Red.

I take a deep breath. "Let's break up." I say as curt and crisp as possible . It's easier this way.

I avert my gaze to the floor, unable to look at him as I brush a strand of hair behind my ear.

"What?" His voice comes out in barely a whisper.

"Break up." I repeat, a little bit louder and fiercer this time.

"Why?" He asks, still shocked.

"I'm bored and tired of you, that's why." I lie, standing up and dusting my shorts.

I try to walk away from him, but he grabs my hand quickly. "You don't mean it." He whispers in disbelief .

I turn to him and look into his eyes and say two words which tear him apart, "I do."
