During the last 20 minutes of the day, I get called down to the councilors office. I get down there and get sent straight back to to what's her faces office. "Please sit." The first thing I hear. I automatically think they're going to kick me out for what I did at my last school. " so, I just got most everything from your last school, and I noticed that you play quite many sports" she says looking at an email. "Soccer, track, volleyball, hockey, and football?" She looks confused " you were the captain of the football team?" She sounded surprised
"I was co captain at first but then Hayden left, so it was just me."
She finishes talking to me about joining a team for spring sports and let's me finally leave when the bell rings. I head to my locker to see my two locker buddies grabbing there things. I see Ronald and another guy must be James. He looks quite familiar to me. I can only see the back of him but he looks like someone I know.
I walk up to the lockers when a space clears. Ronald sees me, and taps James to turn around and meet me. "Hey James, Maie is here. You said you wanted to meet her." James turns around and we both stand in awe "James this is Maie, Maie, this is James" he fades out when he realizes we already know each other."Hayden?" He doesn't say a word and then just walks off.
"Shit, he was my ride" he mumbles to himself "What was that about?" Ronald ask passing me my coat and grabbing my books for me. "Uh, we use to go to school together before he moved here... We use to be best friends and then one day he kind of just up and left, no word or goodbye" i start dazing off as I remember that first day he didn't come to school. "Police were everywhere, talking to all his teachers and the football coach. No one would tell me anything, all they would say is that he moved. I never say anyone so I thought it must have been true." I realize Ronald had walked me to my car while I was talking.
"I'm so sorry that must of been tough, I bet you feel better knowing where he is now, right?" He ask "a bit but now I know he was ignoring me" I unlock me car. "You said he was your ride? Do you need a lift home?" I ask realizing I'm the reason he hadn't one anymore. "Please, I didn't want to ask cause you don't know me to well and I thought I'd be a bit weird."
"Not a problem, you're just going to have to give me good directions cause I literally got here last night and know nothing of this town" I chuckle a bit as he gets in. And then we were off
