"Hey Harry." Mark says walking up next to me, rolling up his sleeves. He then grabs a towel and dries the dishes after I wash them. "Anne and MacKenzie are asleep on the couch."

"Oh... Kenzie is a bit of a vicious one..." I comment bluntly. Mark cocks an eyebrow as he turned to look at me.

"Oh really? Is that so?" He asks and I just nod in response. "Let me guess, she flipped out on ya for calling her MacKenzie? It's my bad, don't take it to heart. She's been less social since her mother died, a couple years back. Only her mother and I ever called her MacKenzie."

"Oh... How did she die? If you don't mind me asking." I pushed on, wanting to know more.

"Cancer. It got the best of her. She tried to fight it and she tried to stay strong but in the end she told me to keep MacKenzie out of the room until after she had passed because she didn't want her little girl to remember her in such a weak state. Margret wanted her little girl to remember her for who she was, and to see her for the last time when she was most peaceful and at rest." Mark explain with tear-filled eyes.

He took a deep breath, "I not here to try and replace your father, Harry-"

I cut him off right then and there, "He was not a true father, you could replace him any day and I'd be grateful. I like you much better so far. But don't push your luck with me. You do one wrong thing and I'll make sure you never see my Mum again." I warned.

"I won't Harry, I promise." Mark says as he patted my back and put away the last of the dishes.

"You know, Harry... With every right comes a responsibility. We must all take responsibility for what we have done in both the past and present. But most of all we must embrace the future, for the future is unknown. Expect the unexpected Harry, then you'll go far. I believe you can do anything you set your mind to." Mark continued. His rant inspired me to do something that no one would ever expect me to do.
