Over the next few weeks, Brian and Zacky grew closer and closer. They hung out more often, and on occasion, they went out to dinner. It wasn't a date, at least, not from Brian's point of view. But Zacky began to feel something he had never felt before. Brian made him feel like he had a home. Sure, his home life wasn't bad, but he had never truly felt at home there. He had spent a lot of time thinking about it, and after several weeks, he was finally able to come to a conclusion. He was in love with Brian. But that didn't matter; Brian was not only straight, but he was homophobic as well. Zacky could never tell him about his true feelings. Brian could possibly hurt him, or worse, kill him. So for the time being, Zacky decided it would be best to keep his affection to himself.
Even though he wouldn't admit it, Brian began to feel something towards Zacky as well. It wasn't the type of affection that Zacky felt towards him, but it was definitely stronger than the bond he had with his other friends. He loved to spend time around his hazel eyed friend, no matter what they were doing. Whether it was listening to music together or even spraying graffiti on passing trains, Brian cherished every second of their time together. Zacky spent time at Brian's house, and Brian at Zacky's. The hazel-eyed boy's mother had grown used to Brian's company, and although she thought he was somewhat mature to be friends with her boy, she didn't protest. It was the happiest she had seen him since before she had divorced his father, and she didn't want to ruin that.

Zacky closed the front door behind him, hoisting his backpack over his shoulder and trotting down the two steps that lead up to his porch. He sighed softly, shoving his hands into his pockets and walking away from the house. He'd decided to leave early that morning and walk to school, needing to clear his head of the thoughts that plagued it. Mostly thoughts of Brian. He kept his head held low as he stalked towards the school, occasionally glancing at the road for whatever reason.
As the hazel-eyed boy got closer to the school, he heard a familiar rumbling that grew louder with each passing second. Soon enough, the rumbling was right next to him, and when he looked over, he couldn't help but grin at the sight of that sleek black Camaro that he loved so much.
"You need a ride?" Brian smirked as the passenger's window rolled down. Zacky giggled softly, nodding before he trotted over and opened the door. He hopped into the car, closed the door behind him and then buckled his seat belt into place. "What're you doing walking to school, dude? Don't you usually take the bus?" He asked with a raised brow, turning his piercing brown gaze towards his gorgeous friend for a split second.
"I dunno, I just... I kinda needed to walk for a little bit, you know?" Zacky murmured softly, not looking up at his friend as he spoke.
"Wait, does that mean I shouldn't have picked you up?" Brian stopped the car, biting his lip to keep from letting out a chuckle. "Get out, then!" The hazel-eyed boy faked a gasp, his eyes widening dramatically.
"How dare you! What am I supposed to do, hitchhike to school?!" Zacky giggled quietly, looking over at his brown-eyed friend. Brian smirked widely, stealing a quick glance of Zacky's entire body before he looked towards the street corner, an idea popping into his head.
"I'm sure you could get a ride.. Maybe pick up some money on the way there." The brown-eyed boy winked devilishly, sending a sharp blush rocketing through Zacky's entire body. Brian wiggled his brows playfully before he started laughing, patting his hazel-eyed best friend on the knee. "I'm just kidding, Zacky! I wouldn't pimp you out!" He chuckled. "..Yet." He added quietly before he pressed on the gas, heading towards the school at a steady 45 miles per hour.
"What's that supposed to mean, yet? What, are you gonna wait until I'm 18 to start selling my body for sex?" Zacky challenged.
"Maybe." Brian grinned, winking playfully as he pulled into the parking lot of their high school. He parked in the empty spot next to Jimmy's beaten up white truck and cut the engine, raising his brows over at his admittedly gorgeous best friend. "You're kind of a goody-two-shoes, aren't you, Zack?"
"What do you mean?" He asked curiously, tilting his head.
"You've never really.. Done anything bad, have you?"
"No.. Not really.." He admitted, looking down at his lap. He heard the click of a lighter, and when he looked up, he saw Brian lighting a cigarette that was perched between his perfect, heart-shaped lips. Once the white stick was lit, he took a quick drag from it and then extended it in Zacky's direction. "W-wha.. No, I.. I don't smoke, Bri.."
"Oh, please, come on. Just try it." The brown-eyed boy murmured, furrowing his eyebrows. Zacky let a sigh escape his lips, reaching over and taking the cigarette from Brian's hand. He put the cigarette between his lips, taking in a deep drag and coughing once the smoke entered his lungs. "Don't worry. You'll get used to that, eventually.. Now, let's go in before the bell rings and get some breakfast." With that, Brian took back his cigarette and they walked into the building that loomed before them.

Zacky sat down next to Brian at the lunch table, poking some craters into his turkey sandwich. Brian gave him a sullen smile, taking a bite out of his own sandwich before taking a sip of his Coke. Johnny and Jimmy sat down together across from Brian and Zacky, giving each other a subtle glance before a sigh escaped the smaller boy's lips.
"B-Brian, we.. We have something to tell you." Johnny murmured, lacing his fingers through Jimmy's underneath the table. Brian raised his brows, setting his sandwich down and clearing his throat.
"What's going on, man?" Brian asked.
"Well.." Jimmy began, looking over at his boyfriend and biting his lip. "Brian.. Um.. Er.. Johnny and I.. We.." He cleared his throat. "Johnny and I are.. Together. Johnny and I are boyfriends." Brian sat up straight, furrowing his eyebrows as he glared over at the two boys. Johnny's hand tightened around his boyfriend's lanky fingers, feeling as though he had gotten the air sucked right out of his lungs.
"So, let me get this straight," Brian growled, lazily pointing at the boyfriends. "You two are gay?" Jimmy nodded nervously, tensing up when the brown-eyed boy suddenly rocketed away from the table. "I'm friends with a bunch of faggots?" He spat bitterly, and at this, Zacky stood up and shoved him.
"Hey, you'd think that as their friend, you'd be happy for them even if they are gay!" The hazel-eyed boy snapped. At this, Brian looked shocked; he had thought that Zacky felt the same way about gay people that he did. He never would have expected him to stand up for someone like that.
"You've got a lot of room to talk, Baker! You hate gays just as much as I do, you fucking hypocrite!" The brown-eyed teenager snapped back, his teeth clenched and his eyebrows furrowed together.
"No, actually, I don't, Brian!" He screamed.
"Then why the fuck did you tell me that you did?!"
"Because I'm gay too, and I didn't want to lose your fucking friendship by telling you that because I knew you'd flip your fucking lid!" Zacky shrieked, tears starting to well in his hazel eyes. There was complete silence in the cafeteria as the two boys stood nose to nose, both practically seething from rage.
"Y-you're gay?" Brian spluttered, his brown eyes wide.
"Yeah, I'm gay, Brian. Go ahead, hit me or whatever the fuck you're gonna do, because frankly I don't care anymore." Zacky growled, feeling tears trail down his cheeks. He knew something bad was about to happen; he could feel it deep in his gut.
"I'm not gonna hit you," Brian snapped. "But I'm definitely not gonna fucking hang out with you anymore, you disgusting motherfucker." He shoved Zacky away from him and stalked out of the cafeteria, shoving his hands into his pockets. How the fuck could I not have seen this? He was feminine, he fucking blushed around me.. Oh God, he's got the fucking hots for me! Brian thought as he left the building, trudging over to his Camaro and pulling out his pack of cigarettes. He lit one and put it between his lips, taking a deep drag from it and then blowing the smoke out. Friends with a fucking faggot.. Great, now I'm gonna be the fucking laughing stock of the school. He thought, thumping his heel against the ground angrily.
Zacky sat at the table, his head in his hands as the tears kept spilling over his lower eyelids. God, I'm such a fucking idiot sometimes.. I should've just kept my goddamn mouth shut and this never would've happened. He had just lost a friend, but worse than that; his love interest had just called him out in front of the entire school, and now, he'd never be able to talk to him again. He knew it'd be okay eventually, but.. He couldn't help feeling emptier now that Brian's deep, sexy voice wasn't there to fill the air that he loved to breathe. What now..?
