"Ellipsis," I introduced myself, sitting back down in my seat, leaning back in what many people would call an 'un-lady-like fashion'.
I just moved to London. Being the strange accented Aussie girl at a new school was not a great start. Rocking up to school the way I did, also did not add that. I rode in on my motorbike, no helmet and wearing leather pants and a tank top, quite a revealing one actually. Can't help it though, I like the attention.
Back in Australia I was quite the rebellious child. I got pissed at my parents at quite a young age and kinda lost it at sixteen, fed up. That was when I got my first lip and nose piercing and bleached my hair till it was white. To say my parents were disapproving was a major understatement. I got an illegal tattoo a few months later, from my shoulder almost down to my elbow. My parents faces when I arrived home with that had been priceless, then they kicked me out. I stayed with my best friend Wyntre until around a week ago, I left to come here on my birthday.
A new name, a new school, this will be fun. My name was Isabo but what kind of bad ass rebel has a name like that? Ellipsis isn't a name, no one would expect it and, I liked it.
The teacher scowled down at me. That introduction obviously wasn't what he had expected. I sat listening to music the entire class, stern looks from the teacher being thrown at me the whole time. I just smirked at him and continued scrolling through Tumblr.
As assumed the teacher kept me back, lecturing me on the importance of listening in class until I cut him off, informing him that his lecture on listening was keeping me from listening during my next period class that had already started.
Walking slowly I made my way to my next class, English. Originally this was my favourite class but nowadays, I couldn't give a crap about it. The only reason for coming to this school was the photography class. I flung open the squeaky English room door, walking in. There was a young guy at the front of the room who, just like everybody else, turned to look at the person who had just entered. The guy who I'm assuming was the teacher raised his eyebrow are me, clearly wanting to know who had interrupted his lesson.
"Ellipsis," I stated plainly.
"Excuse me?" he asked, looking somewhat confused.
"That's my name, Ellipsis," I said walking up to him.
There was no available seating in the room so I had to sit at the teacher's desk, which I can't say I didn't enjoy, 'Mr Tennant' was pretty hot, he was like way early twenties. I sat at his desk, biting on my tongue ring and listening to music. . . this got on his nerves. He demanded I stay back after class to talk to him.
After class I got out of my seat, moving to sit on top of his desk as he collected the various papers from around the room. The look on his face was disapproving as he walked back towards his desk. He placed the papers on the keyboard before walking back to the door, closing and locking it.
"So Mr Tennant, what did you want to talk to me about again?" I asked as he walked back over towards me.
"The disrespect you have for my class," he said strictly.
"Oh, it's not just your class sir, I just, don't wanna be here," I said smirking.
"Well then why are you in my class?" he asked, quite displeased with my smart ass remark.
"I can think of one reason," I smirked, standing up and walking towards him.
"You. Are. A. Student."
"I am quite aware of this," I said sarcastically.
"You need to stop this," he said I moved closer, his voice shaking a bit at the end.
"If you really wanted this to stop. . . You would've moved away by now," I said, running one acrylic nail across his cheek.
He shivered beneath my touch.
"No," he said firmly, turning and walking to his desk. "You are a student and I am your teacher. From now on, in class you shall do the work I present to you in class and not listen to music. Anything other than my standards and you shall be staying back for detention with me."
"Yes sir," I said sarcastically with a mock salute and a roll of my eyes.
"That is enough Ellipsis," he said, sounding a little exhausted with my attitude already. He looked like he was debating whether to say something or not and after an internal battle he decided to say it. "Do you know what your name means?"
"Yeah, of course. It's the name for those three little dots in a row," I said.
"Do you know why your parents chose it? It's quite interesting that they used it for a name," he said, intrigue obvious in his voice.
"They didn't, I did. I liked the word and I thought it would be pretty cool to have a unique name. Changed it legally a couple of months ago," I explained. I actually did quite prefer having Ellipsis as my name.
"What is your name?" he asked, his brow furrowing.
"Uh uh, that is for me to know, I may have told you before but nup, not anymore," I said with a wink. "Can I go to lunch now?"
"Sure, but I want you to behave in my next class," he said, dismissing me.
"See you round. . . Eric," I said with a giggle, walking through the door. I heard him sigh behind me at me using his first name.
I really don't know why they find it necessary to put a teachers first name on their badge and then not allow people to use their first name.
