The first month of school passed without any nonsense about Emmy Clark. Occasionally I would catch glimpses of her blonde hair in the hallway or in the parking lot, but I never dwelt on it.
The first week of October I received a surprise. I was at my locker when I heard a voice say " Hey, could you tell me where the science lab is?" It was a girl's voice who spoke. the voice had a rhythmic sense to it. I turned around and found myself gazing into two brown eyes. Amber brown eyes. The perfect brown eyes.
"My names Victoria Dalton," said the mouth below the brown eyes. The mouth was formed of curved, full lips. I stared at the girl. She had a willowy figure, and long brunette hair with highlights. She had a tan complexion, a oval face, and long lashes. She was everything I'd ever dreamed of. I was so stunned it took me a moment to realize that the girl, Victoria, was looking at me expectantly.
"oh," I said " Lennon Graydon. Um, I'm on my way to science now. I could show you the way, if you would like,"
"Thanks Lennon," said Victoria with a wink. I felt my face turn red.
As we walked down the hallway, Victoria said " I'm new by the way. I just moved here this week."
I nodded, still feeling stunned. Victoria was still talking but I wasn't quite taking in her words. This time, this time it was real. I had fallen in love at first sight. And I knew for a fact I'd never know anyone named Victoria Dalton.
I was so busy looking at Victoria I wasn't looking where I was going. I knocked into someone, who dropped an armful of books.
"Oh, sorry,' I said vaguely .
"It's alright," said a voice like a silver stream. it was painfully familiar. I looked down and sure enough there was Emmy Clark on her knees picking up her books. When she stood a look of recognition flashed across her face. Did she remember me from when we were younger? I didn't like the wat my stomach gave an exited flip.
"Sorry," said Emmy and she rushed off.
"Freshmen," said Victoria, rolling her eyes "I can't believe I was one last year! That girl doesn't even look like she's a freshmen. She looked like a twelve year old! "
I laughed uncomfortably. "yeah..."
Now that I thought about it , it was true. Emily looked four years younger then Victoria.
I didn't have science with Leo, Brody or Sam so I had to wait until English to tell them about my love at first sight, Victoria Dalton
