The Killer

You awoke to the lovely sound of soft snoring. Looking up, you realize and blush a little at last night. Your eyes were treated to a beautiful sight this morning that you wished you could replay forever. Snake lay sleeping on his side, scales running up his pale body, the softest sound of breathing fills your ears as his eyes twitch under the eyelids a bit, mouth slightly open to reveal a fang that peeked out from the mouth a little. His gold eyes open and blink for a moment at the sight of you blushing, only to smile a sweet morning smile. You then realize you're about to be late for the investigation. Quickly getting up, you change (getting help from him for the corset, by the way) and get ready for another day filled with snakes and animals.
He lightly pecks your lips before leaving the tent with you, Oscar somewhere in his clothes. As you 4 enter the forest like the previous day, it seemed to be just another day of snake charming. But no-you knew that was about to change at the sound of a gunshot ringing in your ears. Ciel hadn't told you all details of his mission, it being a private thing for the queen really, so you had no idea what was going on and silently hoped that it was a firework. "It's him. Lione. Lione the lion killer." You overhear Ciel say to Sebastian whilst pulling out his own gun from his belt. A 13 year old...with a gun?!
Anyway, you stayed behind, Snake hugging you protectively. "Snake! Take lady Y/N out of here! A lady has no business seeing blood! Exterminate the killer, Sebastian!" The eye-patched boy shouts, as your snake lover is pulling you away. Your mind was spinning like a top.
Just what the bloody hell was going on?! He had dragged you all the way back to the tents, you both running to the base left you panting. You in particular. Damn corset. It was only still about 11 AM, the scorching sun slammed down on you like the burning flames of hell. You fan yourself a bit as you and Snake both enter your tent to cool off. You both seated, you finally blurt "and what is all this?" He looks at you, golden eyes widening for a second before explaining from his snakes. "Well, as you know, Ciel is the queen's 'guard dog'...says Emily..." You nod in agreement at the snake on Snake's shoulder. "This mission, he has to exterminate a killer of animal species-as well as other humans....says Emily..." You frown in disgust at the crime. Who in his right mind would kill like that, especially innocent animals!
A few other repeated gunshots can be heard, making a the chill down your spine cool you from the heat. Snake suddenly curls behind you to wrap arms around your waist. "Hey...Snake...are you scared?" You ask. Come on, there was a raging killer on the loose. He stayed silent for a moment before burying his pale face in your hair.

Yes. He was. And you snuggled against him amid the heat, turning around to give him a light reassuring kiss on cold lips. You couldn't say you yourself wasn't scared. Oscar and Emily curled themselves around you both, waiting for  Ciel's return. You decide to be brave now. You crawl out from your lover's loving grasp to peek out from the tent flap. There stood the young master, blood splattered on his clothes like paint, the fresh red color visible on the dark blue clothing. He'd just come from the jungle. You gasp slightly at this but it's not loud enough for anyone to hear. Snake comes out, ready to assist the young lord. So you step out as well, proving that you're unharmed and that's when Ciel declares that you all leave for home by the day after tomorrow, after snake had asked him to stay longer in his paradise. So he feels sorry for Snake somewhere in that cold heart of his. You think quietly to yourself as Snake thanks his master like he had just given him life. As Sebastian guides his master to his tent to tend to him, Snake grabs your hand, hot and cool colliding, making him smile at you. The rest of the day was spent playing in the little river you'd found. Soaked from the water, you both get out from the natural setting laughing, the moon fighting the sun for dominance. Ah, sunset. Snake wrapped a wet arm around your waist and you realize it felt like a real snake was cuddling you in its embrace. You smile and rest your head on his shoulder as you both walk back in the tents.
