Sarah looked up and the moonlight softly kissed her cheeks. Cody smiled as she twirled under the star painted sky. Sarah stopped and smiled at Cody, "You already know what I'm going to ask." she giggles. Cody stuffed his hands into his pockets, "And you know my answer." She tilts her head to the side slightly, "But why not?" Cody pulls out a cigarette and puts it in his mouth, "You know that I can't dance." "But please. For me?" she pouts. Cody looks down, "Maybe." He tucks his head into his shirt and lights his cigarette. He blows a small cloud of smoke, "But it's not my fault if I step on your feet." Sarah laughs and holds out her hand, "Don't worry. You wouldn't hurt me." Cody takes one last hit and throws the cigarette on the ground. He walks over to Sarah and gently grabs her hand. Sarah pulls her body to his and places her hands around Cody's neck. She lays her head onto his chest as he places his hands onto her waist. "I remember when Joey Finkle left me at the dance freshman year, and you broke his nose for it." Sarah laughs. Cody nods, "You're my best friend. You deserve to be treated with respect. Sarah looks up at Cody, "Thank you. You kept me safe from some major assholes." Cody nods, "That's kind of my job." Sarah grins, "You're such a great friend." Cody looks up, "It's getting late. I'm pretty sure Lance will be worried." "You're probably right." Sarah grabs her bag and looks at Cody, "Ready?" Cody pulls out a cigarette and nods. He pulls out his light and the yellow flame dances in the wind as he lights his cigarette. "I really wish that you would quit that." Sarah sighs. Cody stuffs his hands into his pockets as they walk down the road, "I know. You always tell me. I'm just not ready yet." "I understand."

Cody knocks on the door with his shoe. Lance opens the door and cracks a smile, "Did she seriously get that tired?" Cody slides through the door with Sarah bundled up in his arms, "That's Sarah for you." Lance shakes his head and follows Cody to Sarah's room. Cody pulls back the covers and lays Sarah in bed. He covers her with the blanket and walks out of the room, shutting the door behind him. "Are you okay Cody?" Cody nods as he pulls out another cigarette. "Hey, talk to me." Cody looks at Lance and shakes as he goes to use his lighter. Lance pulls the cigarette away, "Dude. What is going on?" "I'm sorry. It's just... I'm still hurting for her. She's still down about...him." Lance sighs, "Yeah. I've noticed that as well." Cody pulls out another cigarette and lights it. He presses the palm of his hand to his forehead, "Do you realize how badly I want to beat his ass? I want to fucking curb stomp his face." Lance puts his arm around Cody and walks him into the living room, "Have you told her yet?" Cody shakes his head, "I'm not going to go now." "Why the hell not?" Lance stares at him. "I can't just pack up my stuff and leave. I can't leave her." Cody takes a hit off of his cigarette.
