Sarah smiles as she hugs her big brother goodbye. "I can't believe it's time for you two to leave already." Lance says as he holds onto his little sister tightly. "It's fine. We'll be back soon. And as soon as Cody's off of probation and can leave Michigan, we'll be back with him and Wess." Lance smiles and strokes his baby sister's hair. "Just be safe in the snow. The weather is supposed to be clear until you leave. You have the chains on right?" Sarah rolls her eyes, "Everything is fine." Lance nods and gives his sister a final hug, "Alright. je t'aime." Sarah smiles, "je t'aime." Lance closes Sarah's car door and waves as the girls drive off down the road. He couldn't shake the feeling in his gut that this was a bad idea. "Be safe." he whispers as she turns around the corner and is out of sight.

"So how excited are you to get back and see Cody?" Sarah smiles and flashes a blushing glance towards Kasandra, "I'm very excited." Sarah pulls her phone out, glancing at it and then the road as she looks for Cody's number. She smiles as she hits his name. She glances and swerves from almost hitting a truck. Her and Kasandra look at each other and give off a nervous laugh. "Hey, you've reached Cody, I either can't answer or I'm ignoring you. Leave your number and we'll find out." The voicemail beeps and Sarah ends the call. "I can't wait to be back home and in my own bed." Kasandra says as she unhooks her seat belt and leans the seat all the way back. "Uh, are you sure that's safe?" Sarah says glancing at Kasandra and the road. Kasandra laughs a bit, "As long as you drive safely." Sarah tightens her grip on the steering wheel. "Yeah." she says as she laughs nervously. An uncomfortable feeling rises in her stomach. "We'll be fine. We always are." She glances over at Kasandra and hears her start to snore. She smiles and shakes her head slightly. She looks down at her phone and tries calling Cody again. "Hey, you've reached Cody, I either can't answer or I'm ignoring you. Leave your number and we'll find out." Sarah sighs and waits for the voicemail to end. "Hey babe. Me and Kasandra are on our way home. I can't wait to see you. I've missed you. I love you." she hangs up and smiles down at her wallpaper. A picture of her and Cody. Cody's beanie is covering the upper part of his face and he's kissing Sarah's cheek as she smiles. She glances up and slams on her breaks, but it's too late.

"Sarah, it's me again. Babe you're scaring me. Please call me back." "Is she still not answering?" Wess asks as Cody hangs his phone up and chucks it across the room. He shakes his head and starts pacing back and forth. His phone starts ringing and he runs to grab it. "See, she's fine. She was probably just driving still." Wess says cheerfully. Cody looks down at the number, "Hello, Lance is that you?" Lance chokes back tears, "Cody, are you with Wess?" "Yeah, why?" "Hand him the phone." "Alright." Cody hesitantly says as he hands Wess the phone." "Hello?" Wess says happily. His expression quickly changes as he stares at Cody with a frightened look." "Alright. Lance, I'm so sorry." he hands the phone back to Cody. Cody can feel his heart beating fast in his chest, "What's going on?" "Cody..." Lance sighs, "You should sit down." Cody can feel the anxiety in his chest. "Cody, I need you to know she loved you." Lance says as he starts to cry. "But she's moved on into a better place now." Cody's eyes start to fill with water and a tear escapes his eyes. His throat burns as he chokes back the pain in his chest, "What... what do you mean Lance?" "Cody... Sarah got into a car accident on her way home. She missed a turn and the ice froze her breaks. Cody, Sarah's gone. They airlifted her to the hospital. She didn't even make it." Cody sits there. His head starts spinning and he drops his phone and he falls to the ground. He can hear his heart beat fast in his chest as he begins to feel light headed. He looks at Wess with tears falling down from his eyes and he blacks out. "CODY! CODY!" Wess screams as he rushes to his friends side. He pulls his phone out and dials 911.

Cody opens his eyes slowly. Everything looks fuzzy as he grabs his head. "Oh god, Wess. Go get a doctor." Lance says as he moves over to Cody's side. Cody looks at Lance as his eyes start to focus again. Tears fill in his eyes as he slowly starts to remember what happened. "How are you?" Lance smiles as he sits down in the chair beside him. Cody starts to cry and he stares at Lance. Lance nods slightly, "I know. I know. I miss her too." Cody looks down at the IV in his hand and starts thinking of Sarah. "I can still see her smile." he says as a tear rolls down his cheek. "I just want to wake up and hear that this is all a dream." Lance nods and places his hand gently into Cody's, "I know how you feel. I'm so sorry I had to call and tell you." Cody looks at Lance and his sorrow quickly turns to anger. He jerks his hand away, "Where were you? You shouldn't have let Kasandra drive her home alone in the snow. You shouldn't have. It's your fault!" Cody starts to yell. His voice cracks in between his fit of rage. "Kasandra wasn't driving. Sarah was." Lance chokes back his tears and his anger, "She wouldn't listen when I told her not to go. I loved her too. Okay? I know that you're hurting and I know that you're broken, but don't you dare take it out on me." A soft knock on the door drags the emotions away. Wess and a young male Doctor walk in. "Mr. Axton, my name is Dr. Adams. How are you feeling now that your back with us?" Cody glances up, "I feel numb." The nurse nods and cracks a smile, "That's the pain meds." Cody lays his head back into his pillow, "Yeah." his voice trails off. "Alrighty, well we're going to keep him overnight just to be safe but after that he can go home with you." "Thanks doctor." Lance says as he shakes Dr. Adams hand. "Get some rest kiddo. I'm gonna go get some coffee." Lance walks out of the room and Wess sits beside Cody's bed. "I'm sorry man." Wess looks down, his cheerful demeanor has left for the time being. "Wess." "Yeah Cody?" Cody looks up at Wess with tears in his eyes, "Take care of Lance." "Stop it Cody. Don't you dare try and pull that bullshit. I'm not gonna let you even attempt it." Cody looks down, "I have nothing left to live for." he whispers. "She was all that was good in my life." Wess leans back in his chair, "What you're feeling right now... Is how you would make me and Lance feel if you killed yourself. I don't think Lance could handle that kind of heartache. Not after this." Wess looks out the window. "Sarah wouldn't want you to do that." "Don't say her name." Cody says with a cracking voice. "Please don't say her name." Wess stands up and gets into the bed with Cody. Cody cries onto his shoulder as he wraps his arm around him, "This too shall pass."
