Cody walks into his economics class and takes his usual seat in the back. He pulls out his phone and plugs in his earbuds. He puts in his 'bullshit shields' and the next few hours fly by. The bell rings and he stands up and grabs his bag, "Here we go." he sighs. He walks out of the classroom and down the hallway and up to his locker. He opens his locker and shoves his notebooks inside. He slams his locker door and looks down, "Here we go." he whispers. He slings his backpack over his shoulder and walks down the hallway towards Wess' locker. "Cody, wait up!" Wess yells as he runs down the hallway towards Cody. Cody stops walking and turns around, "I'm honestly not ready for this." Wess rolls his eyes, "Well, we don't really have to." Cody looks at Wess, "And how do I avoid this?" Wess does his mischievous grin, "It's this magical thing called, lying." Cody shakes his head, "I refuse to lie to her. And Lance, I promised Lance that I would take her home. I can't just back out of that." Wess smiles and shakes his head, "Damn you for being such a big hearted teddy bear." Cody laughs and shakes his head, "Oh shut up." Wess smiles and does a curtsy, "Yes your majesty." Cody laughs and shoves Wess, "You ass." he laughs. Wess smiles and shoves Cody then runs down the hallway, "Keep up if you can!" "I'm going to get you, you princess!" Cody yells as he chases after Wess.
Sarah sits down on the steps outside of school, "Where is he? He's taking forever." she sighs. She looks around for any signs of Cody or his friend Wess. "Okay, okay! You win!" Wess yells as Cody tackles him to the ground. Sarah smiles slightly and shakes her head, "You two are insane." Wess looks up at Sarah from the ground, "He looks strong, but I can take him!" Wess grins. Cody rolls his eyes and gets off of Wess, "Yeah, right." He laughs as he helps Wess up. Wess gets up and dusts himself on, "Oh whatever. Cody, give me a cigarette. I'm dying over here." Cody pulls out his pack and takes one out for him and Wess, "Here." Wess takes the cigarette and pulls out his lighter, "Hey cupcake, are you ready to cross over yet?" he blows out a cloud of smoke into Sarah's direction. Sarah waves away the smoke and shakes her head, "Nope. But let me know when you two are ready to cross back over here." Cody cracks a smile as he lights his cigarette. He grabs his bag and then walks over to Sarah and takes her's and slings it over his shoulder. "Let's get going now. Alright you two?" he says as he motions his head down the street. Cody's bag rips open and his books fall to the ground. "Dammit." He growls as he bends over to pick it up. Wess runs and uses his hands to jump over Cody, "Let's go then." Sarah walks over and crouches down to help Cody, "I can carry my own bag Cody." Cody looks at her and blows out a cloud of smoke, "I can handle it. You shouldn't have to carry this heavy stuff." Sarah puts her hand on his back as they stand up, "I'm not yours to take care of Cody." Wess looks at Cody then at Sarah, "I'm going to walk ahead a bit." he says as he backs away slowly. Cody rolls his eyes and drops his cigarette on the ground, "I don't care. You're my best friend Sarah. Why can't you seem to understand that I care about you and your well being?" Sarah looks in the direction of Wess, "Wait up Wess." she yells as she runs after him. Cody shakes his head and slowly walks after them.
