Meleody is just your avarage girl living in Northern Calafornia. She was four years old when her sister Adriana was born, and right from the start Adriana got all the attention. She was born with mental retardation, and tons of other mental problems. She doesn't even know her own name. When her family goes to a doctor far away, they found out many things they weren't expecting -including it's partly her mothers fault why Adriana is the way she is. When Adriana goes to a boarding school for special needs kids, Meleody is left in the dust. She feels like no one cares about her. Then she finds out some deep dark secrets about her family. She always thought her dad died of cancer a year after her sister was born, but that's not the truth. Her mom shot her dad. Ten years later is when she finally gets a lifetime sentence. Meloedy is not allowed to see her mom and is shipped off to a foster home. She is seperated from her whole family, and something is just not adding up. With some more clues, Meleody discovers the biggest secret of all.
