Because my mum said so

As soon as I got home, I knew I was going to be in a lot of trouble. As Nathan's limo came to a stop in front of my house gates I saw at least five police cars outside.

Shit

My eyes widened and scanned the area looking for the cause of the police cars and the reason why I would be in a lot of trouble. And there she was standing in front of a police officer, in her bright punk robe, shouting profanities at the top of her voice. Sighing I stared at her through the limo window embarrassed.

"Is that your mum?"

Startled I looked away from the window and towards the limo driver who had his mouth open, wincing at the sight of my angry mother outside.

"yep" I nodded

"Good luck" he said laughing

"I'm gonna need it" I hesitantly chuckled and cautiously opened the limo door stepping out onto the ground with my head down. As if sensing my presence my mum's head snapped to my direction. I gulped turning around to jump back into the limo when the driver locked the door and sped off.

"Laura!!" exclaimed a voice behind me.

Turning around I saw my mum sprinting towards me her long dark brown hair swinging behind her as she ran. Turning to see what saved them from my mother the police stood staring at me. Smiling I waved meekly "Hi"

I never got to see what happened next because I was engulfed in a tight hug that smelt like chocolate.

"Laura what happened are you okay." my mum broke away from the hug, her eyes scanning to see if I've been hurt

"I-"

"oh my god!, were you raped. Police come quickly she's been raped!" she shouted hysterically while sobbing.

My eyes widened with fear as the police advanced believing my mum's word "No!, I haven't been raped, I'm fine" I shouted putting up my hand to signal the police to stop. "mum" I said dragging her off the floor,"I'm fine"

"So your fine?" She asked me slowly

"Yes...." I answered slowly trying to see what she was up to.

"Good" she sighed "at leat I know it won't hurt"

" what won't......" Before I could finish my sentence I watched my mum bend and take one of her fluffy slippers off her foot, holding it as a weapon. Ready to attack.

"This, young lady is for staying out and not calling" she yelled raising her hand up. Before she could hit me, I started o step back

"Mum" I begged, think about what your doing the police are watching. I laughed uneasily craning my head to hint to the cops. Trust me if I wasn't dead before I'm going to die now.

"At least your going down with me" she laughed hysterically advancing towards me " I don't know what you were thinking staying out, at night and not calling"

As she got closer I decided it was time to tell the truth. "I was with a boy!" I yelled squeezing my eyes shut.

Silence

That's all I heard for 2 minutes. Gathering up be courage I decided to open one of my eyes and when u couldn't find my mum anywhere I opened the other eye. I looked at the cops who were all looking as confused as I was.

"Has anyone seen my mum" I asked

They all just shrugged. Scratching my head I turned my head to the left and the right trying to think of what I had missed.

"Laura!!"

"Laura!!"

Is that my mum? I looked at the cops hoping that they heard someone shouting my name to. "Do you hear that" I asked, they all nodded

"Laura !!" She yelled "I'm up here"

We all turned towards the house and up in my room waving out of the window was my mum. Fully dressed make up on her tanned skin, and a dark. Dress which she wore to show off her hour glass figure.

"Laura, we have to go shopping" she drawled sighing "You finally have a man, you don't want to lose him do you" she said winking

I smiled knowing that, a change of wardrobe was the way to win Nathan's heart. Smiling I yelled "only because you say so mum!"
