"It's over, Naito." Grango snarled as he and Naito circled each other. The winged wolves of each pack had stopped fighting and created a circle around the two pack leaders, still glaring at one another. One pack had the wings of a dragon. the other, of a bird. Naito was a white, bird-winged she-wolf and the leader of the Falcons. Grango was a black, rough looking dragon-winged wolf. Leader of the Wyrms. Grango had the advantage of bulk, but Naito was light on her feet.
"Give it up already." growled Grango as he inched closer to his competitor.
"Look around you! You're surrounded by weak links in the even weaker chain you've built. They won't last anymore time on this battlefield!"
Naito bit back a retort, knowing that no matter what she said, he would somehow twist her words around. Her deputy, however, growled at the insult and took a challenging step forward with his tawny paw. Naito stole an angry glance at him, but he wasn't looking at her. The deputy lunged towards Grango and seized the back of his neck.
At that, both packs resumed their previous rows. Naito's deputy held onto Grango's neck for dear life, but to no avail. As Grango bucked and spun, he was thrown all the way to the rocks and hit the tallest one. He tried to get up, but found himself unable to. Grango paid no heed to him as he turned toward Naito. Naito growled and felt the back of her neck bristle with anger. She felt something else land on her nose; it was cold. Snow. This was the second time this battle, and it was coming down faster.
She and Grango looked up at the sky as it gave snow to the earth as the wind howled for it to stop. Grango looked slightly frightened, but quickly changed his expression as he turned to Naito. "What, Naito, scared of a little snow?" Naito smiled and retorted, no longer afriad, "From the look on your face, I presume that you were."
Grango snarled at her and went for her throat. Naito quickly leapt out of the way, but his teeth had hooked her flank, leaving behind a deep, jagged wound.
