*Echo’s Pov*
The news of the missing Chevron was all over the papers by early morning. While the police and the FED’s were worrying about the painting I had on clear display on my wall I was happily sipping my morning coffee. It was a delicious cappuccino from Starbucks and I was loving it.
‘The FBI believe that the theft of the Chevron to be linked with the robberies of the banks.’ The voice of a man said in the background of the hotel room. I scoffed, the FBI were idiots; if they wanted to catch me they would have to do something more than talk about it. ‘There is speculation that the Echo is the daughter of an FBI agent’s wife.’
I chocked on my coffee in shock; that was news to me. ‘It is said that Peter Burke’s wife Elizabeth is the child’s mother.’
“Well shit.” I mutter throwing my half full coffee cup in the sink; I was longer in the mood for coffee. I hadn’t expected to be so close to the case and suddenly giving the photo to Burke didn’t seem like one of my best ideas.
‘That leaves the question of who the father is and the FBI are not giving out any information.’
“Will you just shut up you stupid piece of crap metal.” I groan at the TV in annoyance before I grab my phone and storm out of the room.

“Alex talked to Echo last night.” I told Peter the minute I walked into his office. He groaned in response but left his head rested on the desk. “She’s much more of a handful than we first thought she was going to be.”
“Why am I not surprised?”
“Brighten up Peter,” He lifted his head from the desk to death glare me. I responded to with my infamous Caffrey smile. “It could be much worse.”
“The papers found out about El being her mother. Somebody leaked it.”
“Ok so it got worse.” Another glare. “I have good news.”
“What?” Peter tried to look interested.
“On my way here I got a call from Alex.” He looked at me in confusion. “She told me that she was meeting Echo at a coffee shop down the road from here in 30 minutes.”
“What are we waiting for?” Peter cried jumping into action.

The wig was itchy. I fought the urge to scratch it as hard as I could.
“I never pictured you as a blonde.” A familiar voice teased as the person sat down.
“Me neither.” I took a sip from my coffee as I met the person’s gaze. “Alex.”
“Ashya.” She replied putting her leather handbag on the table.
“You wouldn’t have happened to steal the Chevron?”
I smirk at Alex, “Actually I’m currently looking for a fencer. You wouldn’t happen to know one would you?”
“Of course you are.” She chuckled.
“You know me Alex, people person.”
“I have no doubt you are.”
“Agent Burke would disagree.” I mutter bitterly causing Alex to give me a concerned look.
“Your dad gave me a copy of the file they have on you.” She pulled out a lumpy folder stuffed with paper from her handbag and pushed it over to me.
“God don’t I feel popular.”
“Ashya,” Alex scolded not happy with my joke. “You need to read the file. What they have on you could land you in jail. This isn’t a game anymore.”
